Hazed and unused

I've had some of multiple brands (Android , Invicta , Renato , Swiss Legend) fog up faster than the windows on a 69 Chevy with plastic seats.

(Usually the higher priced models of these brands don't fog up....maybe made in better shops using better materials???.)

Purple haze, all in my brain
Lately things they don't seem the same
Actin' funny, but I don't know why
Excuse me while I kiss the sky

I recall back in August of 2014 I purchased the AD535BPU DM automatic T-100 from Island watch. When it arrived it was completely wrapped BNIB. When checking it out I noticed the haze over the purple. I contacted Mark and sent him photos and another was in the mail the same day. Once again I checked it only to find the same purple haze. The third one Mark sent was fine in 2014, but many moons had passed when I found some gas. I was taking some photos when I noticed the haze under the crystal.

The ANDROID Divemaster Enforcer T100 has tritium tubes, that glow in the dark. Compared to regular lume, these tubes glow longer and do not need to be charged to light up in the dark. The watch also has a reliable Japanese automatic SII NH35 movement.

Toke on that bud and you'll be takin an interplanetary journey! :grin

I have a theory RW that wearing watches inhibits this hazing thing, although not 100%
then this is why you wear em. LOL

This would support the use Sapphire crystal and non-plastic material, though.

Not all watches that use a sapphire crystal will always have metal movement holders and some that do use metal movement holders use mineral crystals. The VE watches I own have never been an issue and they all use mineral crystals, but metal movement holders.

My statement has wriggle room in it, but thanks for your comments.

My Maxjet hazed too, but it wasn't that bad. Buy last week, the Seagul 2806 auto movement started losing 10 hours a day. It's a shame because it was my work watch. Maybe someday, I may see if I can replace the movement myself.

I'm going to pile on the big I my sea hunter has a camouflage haze under the flame fuzzy crystal

The other day EVERY watch I had a crystal fog/haze...yes...EVERY ONE.....then I realized it was a smudge on my glasses.

I think I read on past posts that it may be the plastic movement retainers "out-gassing" that may be the cause of this phenomena.

That's what I think. Sort of like the plastic in a cars interior. No matter how clean the windows are. They eventually haze over.

Sent from the White House on the tax payers dime.

Here's a list of brands I have that have fogged. Some with Sapphire Crystals, many cheap, a few not so cheap. Android, Invicta, XO Skeleton, Immersion, newer Elgins, Bulova Precisionist, Constantin Weisz, Stuhrling, Red Line, Swiss Legend, Elini Barokas, Lucien Piccard, SottoMarino, Adee Kaye, Insignum, Renato, Croton, and Bernoulli. . Might have missed a couple. The worst offenders being The Swiss Legend brands, Invicta, and Stuhrling. Have never had it happen in any of my more expensive brands or any pieces with a metal retainer. I've got some 90 brands of watches from including my dad's watches I inherited that go back into the 70's. to today. From $20 pieces to thousands of dollar pieces. Those are the one's I own that have been visited by THE Fog.

Close, but a few hints would be highest point, high point, crowning point, height, top, acme, peak, pinnacle, apex, apogee,....
Along with 36,000 VPH. Review will be launched on Tuesday.
