TIMASCUS rocks the house .. Just a handful of watches were produced and will go next week into sale

I sent a Facebook message to Clemens inquiring about price (told him not sure I'd be able to swing it, but was definitely interested and was wondering if he could share to see whether I can pull the trigger). Not sure if I will get a reply, but if it's not too much of a premium compared to the sales pricing of the 25000m, I just might get it. I might have to wait and see on Monday when it goes live on their website.
timascus metallurgy plays nice on a big case with many accentuated unusual chamfered areas

wonder why timascus features blue often on striations... blue has a long, distinguished pedigree in horological metallurgy THINK FIRE BLUE BREGUET STEEL HANDS...no rust

why is timascus "blue" ?

I love the look of the caseback (first pic below). The assembled watch in the second pic doesn't seem to have the same look - the blue seems lighter and less pronounced. Is it just me or do these seem different? The bottom pic seems instead of blue it is closer to natural titanium color - maybe it's the lighting? I dig the look in the first pic - not as enamored with the look in the second pic.

It's not going to be uniform like a typical finish Rob. I own and have seen a few other ZELOS models with the Timascus finish a friend owns. The spectrum of colors can have a broad range and some can look really different. I imagine that was why Clemens made a note of it in the specs.

Important Notice: Since there is so much human handwork involved into the production of the material, the cutting and heat-coloring every single watch will look different to the one shown in the photos here. But they will be similar. :) The heat-coloring process is very sensitive to the temperature used and therefore the colors could slightly differ or could be uneven. This is a characteristic of the material and the manual heating process!

As a world´s first we are proud to introduce the H2O KALMAR 2 DEEP DIVER TITANDAMAST, which which is the first watch in the world that has been made entirely from handforged TITANDAMAST material. Not only the watch case, but also the bezel, case back and crown was made from this exiting material. The Titandamast was forged together from three different titanium grades and keeps the corrision resistance and leightweight from the original titanium grades.

By heat coloring the TITANDAMAST is developing at certain high temperatures a robust oxidation layer on top of the material. The color of each titanium grade layer at the same temperature level is different and in result its bringing out this awesome color scheme.

Also the H2O KALMAR 2 DEEP DIVER TITANDAMAST is based on the same design as the H2O KALMAR 2 DEEP DIVER, which holds the 25.000M WATER-RESISTANCE WORLD RECORD FOR MECHANICAL WATCHES! The H2O KALMAR 2 DEEP DIVER was tested and officially certified by German institute to withstand a pressure of more than 2500bar.

With its BLACK-2-BLUE fading sunburst dial this watch is really an eyecatcher. The chromed handset has the typical H2O design.

We will offer this special version with the following configuration options:

MOVEMENT / STRAPS:

1. STANDARD VERSION with SWISS SELITTA SW300 movement and a black Horween leather strap with heat colored titanium buckle
2. UNLIMITED VERION
- Additionally to the standard black Horween leather strap with heat colored titanium roller buckle a second black lizard leather strap with heat colored
TIMASCUS roller buckle
will be added
- SWISS ETA 2892 TOP GRADE / The Swatch group stopped the supply of the ETA movements. In future these movements will become very rare and nearly impossible to source

CERAMIC INLAY:

  1. MINIMALISTIC style black ceramic inlay
  2. 15SEC DIVE style black ceramic inlay / marker filled with Super-LumiNova BGW9
FRONT CRYSTAL:

  1. 8.25mm sapphire front crystal / this crystal has the same height as the surrounding ceramic inlay
  2. 10.50mm sapphire front crystal / this crystal is about 2mm higher as the surrounding ceramic inlay / the sides of the crystal are polished
:hmm:The center of the case back is likely the thickest part because of the extreme WR. I'm guessing the heat will have the least effect on the thickest part of a piece of metal without warping or causing unwanted results on the edges.

So $1850 USD to $2268 USD plus whatever customs obligations and whatever your credit card, bank or electronic payment vendor charges for conversion.

Overall it is a good deal for the materials. The minimalist bezel looks best to me but I'm not so sure about a bezel on a deep diver with no marking at all. I'd prefer a lone triangle or something.

This is a pass for me but for H2O nuts I'm sure its a win.

The 8000m is the thickest watch I own, even with my Invicta and Aragon behemoths. The 25000m is even thicker.

I wish you a great rest of October 2021 and all the best to you! Take care and stay healthy!

Many greetings
Clemens

Even with the flat crystal the case is thick as a brick. I don't think that I could enjoy wearing that beauty.
listening to JETHRO TULL off this post... well i think it is a work of horo metallurgical art with tyme keeping application...

A big man like TYSON FURY could rock it

others of mortal size could admire it in a collection... i got a lot of pleasure on viewing the eye candy and the large surfaces really express the beauty of the metallurgy...

I am only looking so my opine is worth it's weight in grass clippings ...thanks for the posts on this ...DAMASCUS evolution in the art of war and now as jewelry is a fascinating niche of the hobby

my mind is blown on 10mm crystals and 25mm cases... feels like trippin'

FLAME BLUEING watch hands is a delicate art practiced only by master craftsman. True blueing offers corrosion resistance but is done mainly for aesthetics.

I have read the discard rate can be as high as 75%. A nano second too long under the flame and the metal is bronze colored land fill.

I read above CLEMENS is getting these pieces BLUED by heat... very interesting and BLUEING of alloys is something I hope we read more on the forum.

This batch is now sold out. I've worn my 10 Miles watch the past few days trying to decide whether to order the timascus version, and just couldn't do it. The 10 mile on titanium bracelet is super comfortable and it amazes me the engineering and technology in this brilliantly designed watch that can withstand 25,000 meters of water resistance. I think it came down to not being particularly excited about the dial options, and not being totally sure how the final assembled case will look since those pics look different than the initial caseback pics (along with not being sure about this watch on a strap - I always wear mine on bracelet). So I'll be ready for the Black Friday sale and hope that there are some unique options that will make a nice add to the collection. Clemens previewed in earlier months a meteorite dial, a "rainbow" DLC coating that is supposedly twice as tough as H2O's black DLC coating (and that coating is awesome - best DLC I've encountered - super tough and great looking), among some other things such as a hardened titanium coating. I'll look forward to seeing pics of these from those that ordered them, and maybe that might help me decide whether to order from a future batch (he noted up to 99 will be produced and I don't think this batch was for more than 20 or so).

I sure hope that you are correct that this batch was not all and the last because had I known the release date I would had certainly gotten one of these bad boys.

I agree about it being comfortable Rob. I wear my Titianium 8000m on straps, but it feels top heavy that way just because of the sheer height. I never wear my straps tight either. I also have worn it on my SS H20 Bracelet and it feels much better, but there's no getting away from the skyscraper wrist height. I have no regrets owning this one, but I doubt I would get another so tall.

Next try of heat coloring. First dial broke into parts, but second try was a little better.
🙂
Fortunately, because these dials are costing a fortune in production.

H2O INSIGHT 11.09.2021

I have received today a test production of the new rainbow DLC coating, which was developed for H2O by our German DLC coating company. It developed an awesome turquoise color sheme and is extremely hard & scratch resistant. I´m waiting now for the estimated delivery time for several DLC coating chambers with this coating. My DLC coating company isn´t very keen to make it, as it requires several machines to be reconfigured and newly adjusted. This process is reserved only for H2O and you wont see it somewhere else.

Currently preparing timascus/zirconium dials and the cutting process is for me always spectacular. The process must be repeated 60x times to go through the 0.40mm thin sheet.

H2O TIMASCUS ZIKONIUM DIAL

Puh, getting the best out of this beast was a real challange. MANY, MANY procedures, toxic acids, handwork is involved to produce just one dial. All dials and steps must be made separately and no way to make it more economically by producing them in parallel. Not really fun work, but the result is stunning in my opinion!

Is this the worlds first timascus dial?
🙂
