The Orient RA-AA0822L Mako 20th Anniversary Limited Edition is a celebration of one of Orient's most popular lines and embraces everything you'd want from a watch that offers tremendous value for money. The Orient Mako has been an iconic diving watch for 20 years, reason for celebration!

To start, this awesome diving watch has an in-house Orient Cal. F6922 automatic movement. It's suitable for nearly any outfit and nearly every occasion due to be very elegantly shaped, with a 41.8mm (46.8mm lug to lug) case. You can wear the watch during swimming with its 200m water resistance (although it's not suited for air diving), but it will also look great with a suit or casual wear. It's a true all-rounder with a great design, great quality and a true mechanical in-house movement that also features sapphire crystal.

This Anniversary Edition features a blue gradient dial with a beautiful wave pattern and this watch is limited to 3000 pieces worldwide.

One of THE MOST POPULAR entry level watches celebrates 20th Anniversary with a Limited Edition​

Today we unboxing a very special Orient Mako. Made to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Mako, which is one of the most popular entry level divers, and one that was the first serious watch for many, it is a Mako that we know and love, but elevated on a new level looks wise thanks to some unique details. The wave pattern on the dial, the gold colored hands and logo and a black and blue bezel insert as well as Anniversary Edition placed neatly in an almost hidden way on the dial make for one of a kind Mako. Limited to 3000 pieces with each one being numbered, it is a gerat addition to a collection, especially if you are a Mako fan.

The watch is powered by Orient in-house made caliber F6922 that beats at 21.600 bph and comes with both hacking and hand winding, while at the same time losing the additional button for the day of the week setting, that the first generation had, and moving the said function to the crown, in my opinion a better and more elegant solution. The crystal is sapphire, while the bracelet is left unchacnged with solid links but also hollow end links and stamped out clasp. That is the one area where Orient should step up their game as microbrands offer better specs at half the price. Of course Orient as a brand has more history and that brings some value to the table, but it was also always "bang for buck" watch, so it would be great to see them match microbrands in specs at least. None the less, the watch is gorgeous and just like any Mako, while still being original in design, manages to capture the 5 digit Rolex wearing feel due to its great proportions and size.
