New Release: Zenith Defy Revival A3648 Watch

https://www.ablogtowatch.com/new-release-zenith-defy-revival-a3648/

For a revival release, I’ve come to expect Zenith to nail it. This is right in line. Zenith has done a pretty great job with the Defy Revivals, and the A3648 might be my favorite. The bright orange and black is a great color combination on any watch. Keeping almost exclusively to its original roots makes it even better. The Zenith Defy Revival A3648 is available immediately for $7,700 USD. For more information, please visit the Zenith website.

DIVE INTO A LEGENDARY PAST

In this debut example of a revival diver’s watch, ZENITH resurrects one of its most emblematic models with the DEFY Revival A3648. Launched in 1969, the A3648 had a water resistance of 60 ATM, a considerable feat for such a compact timepiece. Powered by the Elite 670 automatic movement, the stainless-steel case features a unidirectional, rotating bezel with a sapphire-crystal insert and iconic, contrasting black and orange hands and dial. This covetable collectible comes on a five-link steel bracelet, modelled after the bracelet originally designed by the famed Gay Frères company for the historic reference in 1969.

ELITE MOVEMENT

The quintessential automatic movement, the ELITE in-house manufactured and developed calibre has been a part of ZENITH’s offerings for over 25 years. Ultra-thin in its proportions and irreproachable in its performance, the ELITE provides a power reserve of 50 hours with its automatic winding mechanism and can host numerous complications.

Hands-On: Zenith Defy Extreme Diver Watch

https://www.ablogtowatch.com/hands-on-zenith-defy-extreme-diver-watch/

Zenith got me with this one. When I first strapped it on, I wasn’t sure, but the immediate ease on the wrist and the bold, unrestrained dial that screams “DIVE! DIVE NOW!” won me over in an instant. With the concurrent release of the vintage-inspired Zenith Defy Revival A3648 diver, it seems Zenith is signaling its entry into the crowded dive watch market, and doing so with the confidence and know-how of a brand that’s been there all along. The Zenith Defy Extreme Diver will be available soon from authorized retailers and via Zenith’s website. Both the blue dial (Ref 95.9601.3620/51.I301) and black dial (Ref 95.9600.3620/21.I300) are priced at $11,300 USD. For more information, please visit the Zenith website.

ZENITH Defy Skyline Chronograph in black, blue or silver presented at Watches and Wonders 2024.

WatchAdvisor
Apr 19, 2024

The ZENITH Defy Skyline Chronograph is available in metallic black, blue or silver. Its dial pairs the collection’s signature starry sky-patterned dial featuring engraved four-pointed stars with the traditional El Primero dial configuration. Three slightly oversized and overlapping counters show the elapsed seconds and minutes of the chronograph, as well as the constant running seconds. The date window – matching the colour of the dial – is positioned at 4:30, another El Primero signature. The flange ring with the 1/10th of a second scale has twelve facets, the form of the dodecagonal bezel and serving as extensions of the hour markers.

In an ever-faster moving world, every fraction of a second counts. Just like in the Defy Skyline automatic model and its skeleton counterpart, ZENITH continues to offer the 1/10th of a second function found, now in the form of a1/10th of a second chronographin the Defy Skyline Chronograph. This mechanical feat is the result of the El Primero 3600 calibre’s high-frequency rate of 5Hz (36’000 vibrations per hour), visible through the display back. Its open star-shaped oscillating weight with bidirectional winding efficiently provides a power reserve of 60 hours.
One of the highlights of the Defy Skyline is its integrated quick strap-change mechanism integrated directly into the case, allowing for effortless versatility without requiring any tools. With the simple push of a button, the three-link steel bracelet can be swapped with the supplied star-patterned rubber strap with steel folding buckle. The ZENITH Defy Skyline Chronograph is available from all ZENITH boutiques and authorized retailers.
