CREPAS WATCHES opens a new Kickstarter account in order to leave the TACTICO WATCHES account only to TACTICO projects. That means CREPAS WATCHES projects will be listed only on this account.
CREPAS WATCHES is proud to launch the third CREPAS model on Kickstarter, a product which combines MEGAMATIC’ characteristic design, marked by refined and vigorous features, with a complication standing for technical innovation, the helium valve release, that will allow you to keep the watch safe in a decompression chamber. The timepiece retains the brand’s most distinctive peculiarities, introducing remarkable additional elements such as the flat ceramic inlay bezel and oversize crown.
CREPAS WATCHES designs and manufactures technical diving watches for extreme divers since ten years ago. All the designs are inspired by old models that are currently unattainable for most collectors, due to their scarcity or very high prices. Our clients are watch collectors, amateur and professional divers, members of watch forums and private watch groups. This is the third time we offer a CREPAS design opens to a collective like Kickstater after the success of the Plongeur & ENGELSFISCH models. CREPAS WATCHES markets its designs directly to the final client, without intermediaries. Kickstarter is perfect for us to continue maintaining contact with the customer.
What is saturation diving?
Taken from Wikipedia:
“Saturation diving is a diving technique that allows divers to reduce the risk of decompression sickness ("the bends") when they work at great depths for long periods of time. Decompression sickness occurs when a diver with a large amount of inert gas dissolved in the body tissues is decompressed to a pressure where the gas forms bubbles which may block blood vessels or physically damage surrounding cells. This is a risk on every decompression, and limiting the number of decompressions can reduce the risk. "Saturation" refers to the fact that the diver's tissues have absorbed the maximum partial pressure of gas possible for that depth due to the diver being exposed to breathing gas at that pressure for prolonged periods. This is significant because once the tissues become saturated, the time to ascend from depth, to decompress safely, will not increase with further exposure. In saturation diving, the divers live in a pressurized environment, which can be a saturation system or "saturation spread", a hyperbaric environment on the surface, or an ambient pressure underwater habitat. This may be maintained for up to several weeks, and they are decompressed to surface pressure only once, at the end of their tour of duty. By limiting the number of decompressions in this way, the risk of decompression sickness is significantly reduced”https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saturation_diving
Our MEGAMATIC model is designed to be used in saturation diving. In some previous models we have certified the watertightness of the prototype in a German laboratory to confirm its resistance to water pressure.
All watches will be assembled and tested in Switzerland. The assembly in Switzerland consists of preinspection of each component of the watch, assembly, runing test and control of watertightness.
Our main priority is making our most demanding customers proud of wearing a CREPAS MEGAMATIC 1200m timepiece, knowing it is extremely robust and well builded. That’s why we only use the finest components and available materials.

The ETA caliber 2824-2 is perhaps one of the most well-known and most recognized movements in the watch industry. It has been in production since 1982 and was based off the original Eterna caliber 1427. The “-2” designation indicates the generation. The 2824 is considered to be a “workhorse” movement by many watch enthusiasts. Most of the notorious Swiss watch companies use it or have used it. Among the advantages of this caliber is that the 2824-2 is a movement that any watchmaker could repair, its proven quality and durability and the accessibility to spare parts. We will use the standard grade.

A helium valve is a device for equalizing the pressure inside and outside the watch case when the watch is worn in a diving chamber. Inside the chamber, divers breathe a gas mixture that contains helium. The helium molecules are extremely small and are hence able to penetrate the watch case, building up inside it. In the process of decompression, the pressure inside the chamber decreases more rapidly than the pressure inside the case. This can cause the watch crystal to pop off. To prevent that, some watches have a valve on the side of the case that allows helium to escape from the case during decompression, making the pressure inside and outside the case the same. Most dive watches do not have helium valves and they are useless for saturation diving, where a diver spends time in a diving chamber.
The MEGAMATIC model uses a black matt flat dial with a bevelled date window. The time markers are painted with Superluminova C3.
We have done a stunning blue dial.
You can choose between the black and blue dial after the project ends, once we send the survey.
There are two sets of hands: the big minute hand with pale blue arrow hand and the classic plongee hands.
You can choose between the MEGAMATIC hands set and the PLONGEE hands set after the project ends, once we send the survey.
All hands go with Superluminova C3.
ceramic bezel
Flat sapphire lens with AR coated on inner side.
The MEGAMATIC uses Swiss Superluminova C3 on dials, hands and bezel insert. We have achieved a perfect balance between the dial, hands and bezel strength.
Old school style. Solid oval links. Clasp with safety push buttons.
This bracelet could be used on all our 22mm width lugs models.
We use this packaging with our CREPAS MEGAMATIC model. This consists of a leather roll with pockets to store the spare parts. There are four pockets. It is the perfect packaging to travel around the world with the MEGAMATIC model.
