This is sad...

Kobe Bryant died in a helicoper crash in Calabasas Sunday morning ... TMZ Sports has confirmed.
Kobe was traveling with at least 3 other people in his private helicopter when it went down. A fire broke out. Emergency personnel responded, but nobody on board survived. 5 people are confirmed dead. We're told Vanessa Bryant was not among those on board.
Eyewitnesses also tell us that they heard the helicopter's engine sputtering before it went down. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Very sad news. May Kobe, and all on board, have peace, and ever lasting rest, in the hands of the Great Architect of the Universe.

Spurs nation is deeply saddened. The team did a nice tribute to him today at the game. Rest In Peace Mamba.

So hard to believe that Kobe Bryant died so young. I watched him throttle my crummy Warriors so many times over the years, often in person at the Oakland Coliseum. He drove me absolutely nuts because he was so good but I always respected and admired his skills on the court.

My wife, certainly not a sports fan by any stretch of the imagination, even knew Kobe Bryant back when she was a little girl in Shanghai. They would show Lakers games on TV there back when Kobe was young and that is why there are so many Lakers fans in China. He was their introduction into NBA basketball. They are in shock and disbelief over there in Shanghai as well.

He will be missed by so many fans around the world.

CALABASAS, Calif. — The helicopter carrying Kobe Bryant and eight others that crashed into a rugged hillside outside Los Angeles was flying in foggy conditions at the time were such that the Los Angeles Police Department and the county sheriff’s department grounded their helicopters.
