Well as many of you guys know I'm a cop and don't get to wear my pieces everyday...G Shock for work. OTWT postings are just "if I was." As a result I had been looking at my collection of around 30ish and most sat for months on end before they got into rotation. Instead of being an absentee parent I decided to give many up for adoption and focus on many fewer but "nicer" stuff that was more of the style i really wanted. You guys pretty much know i like the funky, military type joints. This one was found doing some online surfing. After a bit of discussion this one was at my door for pennies on the dollar of what they have gone for in the past. I was pretty pumped about that. As I understand this color combo had only 3 made. Our good friend blueradish, who shares my same style of wrist porn fetishism, has the same piece but in a different color combo.
OK enough rambling. Immelmann is a sister company/brach of Kaventsmann as I gather...someone correct me if I am off there. This one is Aircraft Aluminum so super light for it's size. Not too think and flat so perfect for the flat, bony wrist I have. I see different sizes posted for this different places and haven't got around to measuring it yet. It fits like a 55mm Arsenal...I refuse to call it Octane lol. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the case shape and especially all the extra little beveled edges. Great lug location so the strap sits nice. One friend described the finish as looking like granite. It's a shot blast but I think it's a tad more smooth and won't be such a scratch magnet. The finishing on this thing is super nice and tight (TWSS). ETA 2824 inside. I slapped the buckle on it but not sure it'll stay. The tine doesn't sit against the buckle and may be a snag issue but i'll know more after I wear it a few times. The crystal is plexi which I would like to see sapphire at this price point but apparently this is not an unusual thing with the more military type pieces. I have Plexiwatch should i need it. I do like the height of the crystal above the bezel however. I love the hands and the stepped bend in the minute hand. Cool shape for sure. I think at some point I'll replace the seconds hand as it's too tiny (TWSS). Not sure why they/he did that. Any thoughts?? Lume is really good for blue lume. Looks like a lot is socked in there. Sorry for the crappy pic...I couldn't get he dang camera to focus right. Super awesome strap. I forgot to look if it was stock or aftermarket...just landed late last night. Just the little bit I had it on last night watching the Orange Bowl and it was really easy to wear for it's size. This one is a keeper I think. Sorry for the long but short review. Jingles, please give us the 411 on what/who an Immelmann is plz sir nd why it's important to aviation What say all of you guys?????
