The Ocean Star! Mido??!! NO! Sea-Gull's version, or rather Sea-Gull just lifted the model name. A handsome enough watch, and I felt it to be a fresh take on a tired trope of diver designs, when I bought it. Movement crapped out, despite little use, but Sea-Gull repaired it, and it's working just fine now.
Was one of my last explorations of what was happening in the China affordables market, but seems they have somewhat of a questionable reputation for intellectual property thievery, so I have steered away from them after having bought this one (although I do own one other Sea-Gull watch, and it is one of my most accurate automatics, better than COSC spec).
This one never has gotten much wear since I shortly after bought my RW Freelancer Diver, which is my preferable sporty/dressy black face diver on bracelet (or my Seiko "Baby" MM also fills that bill), but grabbed it for today since it seemed lonely.
