As gman66 has already noted above, today is Pearl Harbor Day, December 7th, 78years after the attack that brought the USA into World War II. As a retired USN Veteran myself, this day has deep meaning to me, and it's made all the more solemn, as, in the last few years, the number of WWII Veterans has dwindled down to a virtual handful. In another decade, or so, it has been predicted that there will no longer be any of these Veterans remaining alive. So please, on this 78th anniversary of that "Day of Infamy," please take a moment to think about those Soldiers, Sailors and Marines who gave that last full measure on their country's first full day of war...

One of the greatest lines from "Apocalypse Now" after "I love the smell of napalm in the morning" and "Charlie Don't Surf" when 'Big Duke Six' (Robert Duvall) calls for air support and shouts into the radio "God Damn it I want this tree line Bombed ... Blow 'em into the Stone Age Son"
