It's on the 9 o'clock side (3 o'clock on lefties), so that can't be it.

    Maybe to hold a laser?

    Maybe to hold a laser?

The small removable device appears to have a pusher on the end of it.
Does that push into the lugs and release the strap?

I just checked their web page and they call it an e-tool or emergency tool and it's a spring bar tool. It may be the single goofiest thing I've ever seen attached to a watch.

a good look on mil field watches... stalking that and enjoying the 2-eye PRECISTA traded to me on this forum by SkYRAIDER as a 1 watch onlywear-

i would pass on the doo dad... for fear it would find every DOOR STRIKE PLATE... and be an empty horo hole if the piece got lost... like ZSA ZSA GABOR crooned in GREEN ACRES... " give me the simple life "

    - because i only own 1 or 2 watches now ...and hope buying hundreds is in my rear view... would need to buy from a DOD which permits returns-

lively discussion credit GMAN/BELLA DINO knowledge assist to ROAD WARRIOR...fun just to look allowing the non spend $$$ to be like drops of water filling my bucket...ka-ching

I really see no reason to clutter up one side of the case with a tool that looks like an after-thought. Just something to bump/ding/break/lose that I've never needed in 60 years of wearing watches. And it surely adds no value to the watch. JMHO, your impressions may vary...
