Herculean Feats!

I did notice the comment on the lume. Wing as went from being among the best in the business back in the Android days to very unimpressive lume on the Aragon models as far as longevity goes.

I agree BBH. That is one of the reasons I only have handful of the new brand compared to original badge. Not only is the Superluminova less potent with longevity, but things like clasp have also slipped in quality. MB-Microtec Tritium is all the same for whomever uses it, so that's a non-issue. To be fair, Deep Blue has gone downhill as well in the lume department and pales in comparison to the older applied lume stuff that doesn't use Tritium tubes.

Yup, always interesting the marketing spin. Isobrite, for example, has a whole write up on the superiority of T100, including that it will remain brighter, longer than T25. Lots of debate on various forums, but all I know is that my T100 models are easier to see than similarly hued T25 watches I have from a variety of other brands, and I agree with those who prefer it. As my pic shows, it's not a huge difference, but, enough to make a difference, to my eyes at least. So, I have been suckered in by the BS designation, LOL.

Yeah, that's disappointing, for sure. My Bioluminescence is pretty decent, for holding some illumination, but some of the ones I've ordered are truly dismal, the Divemaster 3 being the worst. I could barely get a photo quick enough before the lume faded, haha. The lumed bezel on the Hercules fades almost instantly.

Hey RW, so is that just a cheaper grade of Superluminova then, being used? Or...less of it? Or just depends on the type they use? I'm not educated in that area, other than reading of various designations of SL, C with a number after it, also BGW9 I think. I wish everybody had Seiko's magic stuff. The only Swiss watch I have on par with Seiko, for lume, is my Breitling.

Another stellar review with pics and comparisons! Just a first rate job, and tanks
for sharing with us WIT's.

I'm not 100% sure with these new models 2MW. It could be the application of the lume, etc. I can only guess, but the real test is side by side comparison and longevity. I've attached some articles you might find interesting. As far as I know RC Tritec supplies most of the material and their strongest is X1 grade. (Superluminova C3 X1 Lume the latest and strongest lume manufactured by RC Tritec or Super Lume BGW9 depending on version) The photos below are my watches. Prometheus and sister company Borealis watches in the photos are using X1 lume. The NTH Devil Ray is also using it just to give you an idea of the strength.

If we’re talking Super-Luminova, the way the paint was applied can make a big difference. A thicker layer of lume will be brighter than a thin one of equal area, but also a wide line will appear brighter than a narrow one, even if the paint is of equal thickness – an optical trick played by our eyes. Luminova paints are also available with different particle sizes – the bigger the particles, the brighter it’ll be.

Soooooooooooooo much lumey eye candy!!!! Thanks for the knowledge! Great reads, and many watches over which to drool, especially for a lume fan. I've actually been considering Chris Ward's latest moon phase watch, the Moon Glow which uses a realistically represented lumed moon (using the X1, I believe). Very cool looking. Wish it came in bigger than a 40mm.
