Some very interesting designs for those that like the open heart, or semi skeletal, time pieces. Thanks Lee.

Well, alot of watches have an exposed cutout dial showing the movement. Where's the art in that?

Exactly, where is the art and nothing new here! But thanks for posting, Lee.

The art is in the way they sell us the same stuff over and over again and never really change anything.

I have seldom heard the term "Objet d'Art" deployed in the context of a watch movement.

It's their business if they wish to claim the name but they've got some big shoes to fill:

But I suppose it might be reasonable to assume a difference in price point.

They used the name Object D'Art on a line of watches about 10 years ago. They were also skeleton dials with mechanical movements. I gave one to my dad back then and he still has it and it still works. Obviously they were Chinese mechanicals, but they came in dress style watches.

I picked up one of those on the run, but I think it has a bit more charm than this plain semi-skeleton dial. Another Invicta... whatever (sigh).

Maybe it's just the photography but the finish on some of the movement looks a little rough.

"Meet our new collection, Invicta Objet d'Art.."

Really? Not so new, I have one from about 10 yrs. ago. It too is called an "Objet d'Art" piece, it's written right on the dial. So no, not a new collection.

All I know is, I looked at these new releases and the words "Stuhrling Original" popped into my head for like the first time in seven years.

Kinda, sorta, resembles Aragon's Divemaster Skeleton. But then again, don't lots of watches resemble other watches.
