What's Your Horological 'Type'? Maen Brooklyn
Just One More WatchMar 9, 2023
A dangerous wee watch this one for me. The type I put on and don't want to take off. Shame that it doesn't have 100m because I'd probably take it off before getting into a pool. Cheers, Jody
Brooklyn 36 - Triple Calendar
COMING SOON - The Brooklyn 36 Triple Calendar will be available for pre-order on the 15th of March.
With its modest dimensions, robust build, and everyday elegance, this new model might very well become the new timepiece that you wear every day.
We have a thing for vintage dimensions and for making watches that are more than an object that you strap on your wrist. We like watches that aid in navigating the unforeseen challenges of each day and that have actual purpose.
That’s why we made the Brooklyn 36 and we hope you are as excited as we are with this release!
Make sure to sign up to our waiting list to be informed about the latest information about this model and benefit from VIP discount.
Thin profile
The Brooklyn 36 triple calendar has a very thin profile, given the complications it houses. With a case thickness of only 11.1mm (12.6mm including the box domed sapphire crystal), it wears extremely well on the wrist and will easily slip under a cuff. The case has an interesting shape with the bezel integrated in the side of the case. This gives the mid case a more slim look and makes the bezel more prominent. The watch is finished in an alternation of finely brushed and polished surfaces.
Triple Calendar Complication
The Brooklyn 36 is equipped with a very useful triple calendar complication, also known as complete calendar or full calendar watches (“quantième complet” in French, a complication made popular by the Blancpain’s Villeret collection). This type of watch displays the date, the day of the month, and the month of the year. It’s akin to having an analog smart watch on your wrist.
In complete/full/triple calendar watches, the date wheel complication reads all months as having 31 days, so on the 31st day at midnight, the date automatically changes to the first of the next month. Moreover, the little pusher at the 2 o’clock adjusts the month while the crown changes the date, day of the week, and time.
Comfortable five-link Bracelet
The Brooklyn 36 is fitted with our new five-link bracelet. This type of bracelet was originally released in 1945, and it fits the vintage case shape perfectly. It offers the perfect balance between elegance and everyday comfort, which are two elements that we believe define the Brooklyn model. The bracelet has a mix of satin-brushed and polished links that give the bracelet its sophisticated look. It is fitted with a butterfly clasp and can be easily adjusted, thanks to having screwed links. It also tapers from 20mm at the lug to 16mm at the clasp, aiding in comfort.
