I’ve filmed aventurine before, and as you may know it came about from Venetian glassmakers accidentally pouring copper fragments in glass paste and invented this material, but this is a step above with an incredibly jewel like surface that seems to sparkle even in the dark.

Processing Techniques

Aventurine is a difficult material to master due to the copper crystals that are inserted into the molten glass and evenly distributed during the slow cooling process. To create components with a high degree of precision, Aventurine is cold-cut, like a hard stone. Today, the production of this material remains very limited due to its complexity and the significant know-how required.

The History of Aventurine

It is said that in the 14th century, the name "aventurine" derived from the term "adventure," indicating an uncertain and risky operation. In fact, the Venetian glassmakers who first produced aventurine did so by accident, spilling copper fragments into a blue glass paste. From 1644 onwards, the processing technique was codified, and Venetian aventurine artifacts soon became the most prized of the era. The lithograph represents a visit by the Doge to the workshops on the island of Burano, the production district for this glass.

Stardust

The deep black of aventurine, speckled with a constellation of tiny fragments of light, evokes the dense mystery of the stars and the darkness of the cosmos. The dial's construction is completed with ingot-shaped indices filled with Swiss Super-LumiNova® BGW9 luminescent pigment.

Thanks to the thin and reliable automatic V3250 caliber, this watch stands out for its sleek and refined silhouette. The black aventurine dial makes this model extremely distinctive. Cal. V3250

Produced in the Swiss facilities of Soprod SA, the V3250 is an automatic movement based on the M100 caliber architecture. The elaborate skeletonization of the new rhodium-plated rotor—designed to further enhance the movement's details—contrasts with the essential sandblasted decoration of the bridges, making the V3250 a movement with a refined and modern aesthetic.

High Accuracy

The V3250 caliber arrives at our laboratory, where it undergoes further regulation to improve its precision. The movement is adjusted to a range of -4/+6 seconds per day, achieving a very high level of performance, in line with haute horlogerie standards.

Aventurine

It is said that the name "aventurine" derives from the term "adventure", which indicates an uncertain and risky operation. In fact, Venetian glassmakers, who were the first to produce aventurine, did it by chance, by pouring copper fragments into glass paste. The result they obtained led them to develop a real procedure for making this compound and working it.

These guys need to get with the program for that kind of money. No quick release pins on the bracelet end links or micro-adjust clasp on the fly.

Why a butterfly clasp might not be ideal for a dive watch:
  • Manipulation difficulty:
Butterfly clasps can be harder to open and close with gloved hands, which is a significant issue underwater.
    • Potential for accidental opening:
The mechanism of a butterfly clasp might be more prone to accidental opening due to pressure or contact with something underwater.
    • Less secure in rough conditions:
While considered secure in general, a butterfly clasp may not withstand the same level of force and impact as a designed dive watch clasp.
      • Deployment clasp:
This is the most common and reliable choice for dive watches, offering a secure closure with a simple mechanism.
      • Safety mechanism:
A secondary locking mechanism that prevents the clasp from opening unintentionally.
        • Easy to operate with gloves:
Consider the size and design of the clasp levers to ensure they can be easily manipulated while wearing diving gloves.

How many shades are there in black?

There are probably 50 shades of black, if not more. But sometimes, and especially where physicists are concerned, even the blackest black isn't black enough. For many years, NASA has used a black paint manufactured by the international aerospace corporation Lord
