I can sort of see it, especially on something with folded links. In truth .. if spring bars can secure end links, it should not be an issue in my mind. I think RR was fumbling with them, but on camera that's to be expected. It's a quicker method to switch out a link in comparison with screws, pin and collar or push pins.
