THE NEW HOME OF BRITISH WATCHMAKING

The Bremont Manufacturing & Technology Centre is the next chapter in the brand’s story and the new site paves the way for a new era in British watchmaking with capacity for exponential growth, increased manufacturing capabilities, job creation, skills development, and a resolute intention of working with more high-quality British suppliers.

As part of the opening Bremont brings a host of new product to market, including the first chronograph to grace the specialised Supermarine dive collection, a new version of the Argonaut which forms part of Bremont’s Armed Forces Collection and a rather special box set celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Jaguar E-type.

Two British engineering businesses, each with its own British heritage, both based in Oxfordshire and both embarking on pivotal new chapters in 2021. As Bremont becomes Official Timing Partner to Williams Racing, the two firms will be starting a new journey together going into the 2021 Formula One season and will be looking to collaborate on a deeper technical level throughout the partnership.

We are delighted to offer hosted tours of the new Bremont Manufacturing & Technology Centre. The state-of-the-art 35,000 sq ft facility, set in the heart of the Chiltern valley, is the veritable home of British watchmaking and Bremont is proud to be at the forefront of the revival of this historically British craft.

Bremont has been on an unwavering 19 year quest to manufacture watches in the UK and the opening of our new centre is a considerable leap towards that dream. The Bremont Manufacturing and Technology Centre, aka “The Wing”, is a state-of-the-art facility for manufacturing mechanical watches, the likes of which hasn’t been seen here in the UK since the 60s.

Come and join us in this new chapter of the Bremont story and the next chapter in British watchmaking.

Bremont adds its first sports chronograph into the brand’s iconic Supermarine dive collection, a range that has gone from strength to strength since its launch in 2009. The unique design and capabilities to withstand extreme conditions have been extensively tested out in the field by elite military squadrons as well as top dive units around the world.

Working with extreme adventurers and explorers has always been a key tenet of the Bremont brand DNA and a crucial part of the product testing. Former Royal Marine Commando, ex Special Forces Sergeant and current ‘SAS: Who Dares Wins’ star, Jason Fox is the latest ambassador to join Bremont’s impressive line-up. Jason not only trains recruits through the most gruelling of challenges on the hit TV show ‘SAS: Who Dares Wins’ but he is also a best-selling author. Jason joined the forces at 16 years old and went on to serve for 20 years, flying through the selection process into the Special Forces. He has planned and led operations including hostage rescue, counter terrorism, counter insurgency, maritime counter terrorism, surveillance, body guarding and counter narcotic missions to name a few of his many impressive achievements. In his role as an official Bremont ambassador, Jason will be sporting the new Supermarine Chrono.

BREMONT BECOMES OFFICIAL TIMING PARTNER
TO BRITISH RACING ICON WILLIAMS RACING

Two British engineering businesses, each with its own British heritage, both based in Oxfordshire and both embarking on pivotal new chapters in 2021. As Bremont becomes Official Timing Partner to Williams Racing, the two firms will be starting a new journey together going into the 2021 Formula One season and will be looking to collaborate on a deeper technical level throughout the partnership. Bremont’s move to its new state of the art Manufacturing and Technology Centre, which marks the start of a new era for British watchmaking, is perfectly timed to enable a knowledge sharing focused around their respective CNC machining capabilities.

"Faster" is a song by English rock musician George Harrison from his self-titled 1979 studio album. The song was inspired by Harrison's year away from music-making in 1977, during which he travelled with the Formula 1 World Championship, and by his friendship with racecar drivers such as Jackie Stewart and Niki Lauda. Although equally applicable to other professions, the lyrics address the difficulties of achieving and maintaining success in the field of motorsport, particularly Formula 1.

watched it live this morning. Cool presentation, must be such a cool place to work and certainly an impressive overall space. Bremont while respected of course is so far down the ladder when it comes to known luxury watch makers it makes you wonder (or at least it makes me wonder) how well they do? I guess they're doing pretty darn well if they can put that thing together.

it's an impressive structure... no clue how the BREXIT and state of the watch market will affect it...these watches are eye candy to me but way above my pay grade and i mostly know them when DARK OVERLORD does his brick & mortar sojourns

Right! That's kinda my point. I was surprised (pleasantly) to see how well they must be doing despite being a lesser known luxury brand. I mean besides a Bremont event or on the wrist of one of their ambassadors on a commercial/movie I've never seen one in the wild. I can't think of a company selling in the $3-10k price point (where most of their units are unless ltd editions of precious metals) with less ongoing discussion.

That said it must just be a matter of impression instead of reality.

IMO there watches are cool and I'd be happy to own one but at a slightly lower price tier.

Bremont, which began making watches in 2002, wants to bring British watchmaking back. The brand’s watches are inspired by, but not limited to, Britain’s armed forces, famous cars, and legendary airplanes. Bremont’s latest watch is a very limited creation, with some very interesting internal bits.

The luxury watch industry is having a moment.

While other high-discretionary, alternative asset markets like art and collector cars are seeing sales decline, luxury watches are seeing sales climb, and, in some cases, scarcity grow. Just look at how Rolex buyers can’t even find any of its popular sports watches in stock. Or the recent successful online auctions at Sotheby’s and Christie’s, and this summer’s auction at Monterey Car Week put on by RM Sotheby’s and Bob’s Watches, where all lots were bid above their estimates.

And it’s not just the big Swiss watch houses that are thriving. British brand Bremont, based out of Henley-on-Thames in Oxfordshire, England, makes aviation-inspired watches with in-house movements. It’s quite a feat to have an in-house designed and manufactured movement, especially for a company making around 8,000 to 10,000 pieces a year, all in England.

According to Giles English, co-founder of Bremont, one reason buyers are flocking to luxury watches over an Apple Watch, for example, isn’t just because of their timeless design and high quality construction.

Our latest ROX Talks interview sees Kyron Keogh, managing director of ROX in conversation with Giles English, Co-founder at Bremont. We discover why the sky is the limit for Bremont as Giles announces the opening of The Wing, the brand’s new state of the art manufacturing facility, a partnership with F1 team Williams Racing and a trio of new timepieces.

Giles talks about the new Supermarine Chronograph, championed by SAS Who Dares Wins star Jason Carl ‘Foxy’ Fox. A new Argonaut Azure – a timepiece designed for the navy as part of the brand’s MoD partnership and also the new Supermarine 302 with a GMT upgrade.

hard to know what's real DO... maybe a deep pocket with a soft spot for tickers... maybe private equity... they secure the financing for the building but about the bottom line I am not one for all the puffery put out and paid for in mags paper and on-line

I have read that rich guys sitting home during pandemic with a lot of coin NOT SPENT ON GOING RESTAURANTS-HAIR-NAILS-TRAVEL find themselves " buying watches addictively " like wits except heavy grails...

whether this continues into the NEW ROARING 20'S and MECHANICAL WATCHES REMAIN THE OBJECT OF MMT REMAINS TO BE SEEN

" happy days R here again the skies above are blue again "
