So sad with this. One of my favorite places in NC. Was there 2 yrs in a row. I actually was thinking of finding a place to buy around there. Lake Lure, Chimney Rock, and Bat Cave. So serene and nature at its finest! Chimney Rock state park is so cool with all the hiking, views, and waterfall that was in a film. Small mountain towns along the river. Great friendly folk and business owners. Now over half of Chimney Rock is gone along with the whole road in spots. Bat Cave ripped up. I pray for all those folks and their families.
