So a behind the business story you might be interested in...
STP announces the STP1-11 dead! According to my sales agent the movement was manufacturered 80% in Switzerland (80% of the parts are made in Switzerland, 20% outside.)
They are announcing the STP1-21 to replace the STP1-11, this means the percentage of swiss manufacturered components increases to beyond 90-95%.
The power reserve goes down from 44 hours to 41 hours to be more accurate..
The prices of the STP1-21 standard version are now pretty much same like SW200.

Now if SELLITA would do the same thing with the crappy SW200 that would be nice.

In production since 2008, this 28800vph in-house movement is the entry-level STP movement. It has a 44-hour power reserve and has been used on all Zodiac models from Astrographic to Super Sea Wolf, including COSC-certified editions.

:hmm:It's pretty wacked considering the prices they charge. Zodiac trinkets up to this point were using a mongrel movement using parts from "abroad''. I don't trust the SWISS when it comes to trinkets. They want to command premium dollars with loopholes that I could drive a Mack truck through.

If Ronda can designate Swiss parts on movements that are made elsewhere (ASIA) shouldn't the reverse apply as well. At the very least they should be made to note some parts were made in ASIA or abroad to use on SWISS manufactured movements. I think they intentionally do these things so they can have their cheese and eat it too.

Don't mean to Necro an old post, but I have a zodiac sea wolf (out of warranty). Has a 3-13. Issue with keyless works (pull out crown, push back in, watch won't run till you shake it.)
Bought a mod watch on the bay for $60.00 with a 1-11 to cannibalize for the sea wolf. It does the same thing. I might just buy a pt5000 and put it in there. I mean, it's probably the same thing with less issues (half joking).

Woof of a movement.
