Is it a good idea to re-finish or buff out a scratch? Does it affect the overall value? When should I refinish my watch? At servicing? Would it still be considered factory stock?

A lot of us have asked these types of questions. Don't feel silly if you have. I share my opinions and what I plan on doing with my watches. Great question Mike.

 
I guess if you decided to have scratches removed from your expensive piece then
after wearing for awhile, you would have those pesky scratches back so ... .
