I know I am not alone in these sentiments! Light up the comments section with your watch selling pet peeves and experiences. My Buying Pet Peeves video has been filmed and will be uploaded soon. Thanks guys!

I don't disagree with anything he said. I do think the pics are the biggest thing.

Good advice... especially the part about getting a nasty uncleaned watch and taking good pix of your watch that you are selling.

it's always price... you wore it ...it aint a business...spread good karma ( price it low )

thx to ROAD WARRIOR for enhancing my last FS with crystal watch porn-

final word: I have sold /caught & released/flipped many tools...but... I hope I do not have to do it any more...meaning...I am trying to just have 1 or 2 and keep them and wear them...flipping watches is a drag IMHO in this market...like BW said..." it's worth less than u think "

I detail a few pet peeves I have about watch buyers on the secondary market. If you've sold a few watches I'm sure you've run across some of these things before. Let us know your buyer pet peeves in the comments, thanks guys!

BW sez he is flipping a lot to maintain the channel... his " guidelines " are aspirational...don't be a price zombie, don't offer crap trades-- he wants buyers to live by the golden rule...but imho he aint gonna get it... because of the anonymity offered by the net many buyers are at their worst...with the excess supply- insufficient demand-falling prices...it's gonna get worse imho

Every year I sell approximately 10 watches, this year I am going to sell 22. I've never had a problem selling on ebay for the price I wanted. Clean watch, good pic's, and I baby my watches, so they are in excellent condition. Also, I usually only buy at pre-order prices, huge sales, etc. I usually just try to get what I paid and the cost of selling on ebay is the cost of owning the watch for a year or two.

My experience has been very positive, but it is a lot of work selling, taking pic's, listing, shipping.

If the pics are bad, if the watch is grimy or if the description sucks I move on. I try to do all those things well plus price reasonably when I sell

Talk about naive, meaning me, as have never sold a watch and never bought off secondary market.
A lot of what I'm hearing seems to be common sense. This could change if I go after an Omega or Fortis, used, but may deal with a known firm!? Good stuff here, tanks, Mike.

What about being asked if you will accept a lower price even if you don't offer it
How firm is firm?

I don't appreciate low ball offers on eBay. I'm pretty in tune with the value of these watches and do a good job of pricing fairly. If I counter a low ball, I know in all likelihood it's going to be rejected or ignored, and that takes precious time away waiting for the period to end when I could be selling to another buyer. So when the offer is ridiculous or unworkable, I just reject it.

I don't respond to low ballers either. I usually add $50 to the price, just so I have a little room to drop the price a little, and everybody is happy.
