I planned to launch the project after the F/A-18 Super Hornet - so far I'm still depending on crowdfunding, so can only work with one at a time since need to fulfill before opening a new project on Kickstarter - their rules, but maybe good :)

A bit of an unfortunate turn on this project. I'm hoping Thomas is okay. I've reached out to him on all platforms possible and have seen my messages get read, and, on Kickstarter, many of us backers have gone unanswered and of course he receives all of our messages.

The project was fully funded, but then silence. Since production was schedule to begin, in October as I recall, many of us just wanted to know how it was going, but, crickets. No updates, no replies.

Finally a reply came that he was seeking further funding, and that the watch would still be made, but I've never heard of a need for more money, unless there was a miscalculation of the original funding goal? But, still no explanations from Thomas.

It's not scheduled to be delivered until May, so, plenty of time left, buy many backers have become soured by the absence of Thomas and zero communication from anyone at Pitot.

Making matters more concerning, I also ordered, from his website, a special Top Gun style watch, and never received that, nor any word about it, nor any replies to my inquiries. That was not listed on KS, but was promoted as a special deal.

So, I think I'm about $600 into it, and not sure if the watches will ever arrive.

I know that's the risk of Kickstarter, and small brands in general, to some degree, but I don't know if Thomas would want to weigh in at all. Probably not because it's been radio silence.

Anyhoo, that's the update on that project.

Appreciate the kind thoughts. I remain overly idealistic sometimes, lol. I will say that I've found incredible gems on KS, and, for the most part, they work out, although I always factor in the inevitable delays.

If it falls through, I think this would be the first time I paid in good faith, and nothing shows, although his last update was clear to state that the project would come to life. I don't get the second purchase malfunction, as it seemed it was soon to ship, and not dependent on KS funds, and I ordered it direct from Pitot.

Given the massive planning and long window of development, not to mention I've emailed back and forth with Thomas, personally, after the first watch he did, which was a big success (so, a very positive track record), I'm truly mystified.

I've wondered if it was some kind of health issue, but, even that, just total silence makes no sense.

I mean, I've got a stupid amount of watches, so, don't "need" two more, but I really loved the designs he came up with on the two that I ordered, so that sucks. Plus, wanting to support a micro brand, which is another realm where I've had happy outcomes, KS or not.

I'll update if I hear anything. Other backers were quick to assume a scam, but that seems very unlike Thomas.

Keeping my fingers (nervously) crossed.

I've done KS 5 times and have been fortunate to have had no issues... I still check in to see who's making what, but haven't seen anything mindblowing lately... Again, Hoping for the best...

I hope it works out for you. I could not even get a refund from my credit card. It sounds like you won't get the watch. This is the one purchase that taught me a valuable lesson about :poop: Starter. I have been very lucky with the many items I have received from start up platforms. It only takes one to put you on high alert.

So, Thomas did update at KS, and it seems the finances just didn't pan out -- he spent a ton on advertising, under the proviso that it would be worth the expense for potential customer reach, but turned out it wasn't, and so it was a lot spent for not much gain, is how I understand it from his update.

The whole thing was a big blow, and he took some time to kind of grieve the loss of the project and took it to heart that the backers felt left down. Some have left some kinda unkind remarks, and, while I get the frustration of being out one's money, I see nothing underhanded in what went down.

I know I've had companies promise me a lot with advertising or marketing or whatever, but I my little company has a very small budget and I've never really had the ability to blow a lot on promises by people who make their money convincing companies of their promises, so, my feeling is he got stepped up in costs due to those kinds of assurances (never guarantees, of course, but hey look how much more you COULD reach with X more dollars) and then it didn't pan out.

He remains very dedicated to finding funding to get back on track and remains focused on getting the watches done, even if it takes a long time, so my fingers are crossed. Heck, I told him that with the great price (part of why his profit margin was already low) I'd sink more into it, just because I've never seen such a great looking pilot watch.

So, maybe some day they will arrive, and I remain hopeful, but for sure the project is derailed and my wish is for him to get back on track, for himself and his brand, and the backers or whoever remains a backer down the road.

I was just glad he's okay, since my main concern was accident or severe illness. People are more important than money.

That's too bad... Not much KS love around here... Even with good intensions things can go south and nobody likes to lose their money...

Thanks for taking the tyme to update the situation and here's hoping that folks get their watches... 🤞🏻
