It was in April when we filmed the Seamaster Diver 300m Black Black at the Omega HQ in Biel. Gregory Kissling, Head of Product Management, presented us this new addition to the Seamster collection in all details. But we forgot to film a lume shot. Many told us in the comments we should have done it though. Now the Seamaster got back in my hands and I filmed the black beauty on my wrist in the pool and I finally made that lume shot ... Enjoy this 4K-video!

Omega has taken advantage of ceramic’s versatility, to create a diver in contrasting shades from a single color. As always, Omega has stayed true to the 300M’s original design and ensures the watch meets all required dive watch functions.

To create a true sense of deepness, and to signify the darkest corners of the ocean, the 43.5 mm polished-brushed case in black ceramic [ZrO2] is fixed to the wrist by an integrated black rubber strap with a buckle in the same material as the case. To ensure every part of the watch blends in beautifully, Omega’s watchmakers also created black ceramic versions of the crown and helium escape valve.

Although the new Black Black is the colour of night, its dial is easy-to-read at all hours. To ensure visibility without spoiling the Diver’s overall aesthetic, Omega has introduced anthracite Super-LumiNova to the diving scale, the black PVD indexes and skeleton hands, and dot at 12h. Although these essential markers all glow in different colors in the dark, the anthracite turns them dark-grey in daylight.

For the first time, Omega has laser-ablated almost every detail on the black ceramic [ZrO2]
dial. From the iconic waves to the minute track, wording and even the OMEGA symbol, the details have been crafted in positive relief from just one single piece. The unique construction method delivers a superb contrasting effect, while giving the watch a very distinctive, uniform and sculptural look. The same positive relief style can be found on the diving scale of the unidirectional bezel.

Adding some light to the darkness is a window with a clear view of the movement. The caseback, which is of course in polished-brushed black ceramic, has a sapphire crystal glass. Keeping everything oriented is Omega’s patented "NAIAD LOCK" with wave-edged design, which has been metallized with " NAIAD LOCK" and "DIVER 300M", "300 m / 1000 ft".

Through the case-back glass, wearers can view the Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8806, certified at the industry’s highest standards of precision, performance and magnetic resistance by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS). Omega’s worldwide 5-year warranty is further proof of the brand’s confidence in the stunning new Seamaster Diver 300M Black Black.

DESCRIPTION

Since 1993, the Seamaster Professional Diver 300M has enjoyed a legendary following. OMEGA’s 21st century models stay true to the original’s dive watch design, while introducing exciting new materials and movements.

On this 43.50 mm model, black ceramic [ZrO2] dominates. The case, bezel, wave-pattern dial, crown and helium escape valve, all in the same striking material, give the watch a very distinctive, uniform and sculptural look. To ensure visibility without affecting the overall aesthetic, OMEGA has introduced anthracite Super-LumiNova to the diving scale, the black PVD indexes and skeleton hands - and dot at 12H.

Completing the look is an integrated black rubber strap with black ceramic buckle. Adding some light to the darkness is a window with a clear view of the movement. Visible through the sapphire-crystal on the wave-edged caseback is OMEGA’s Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8806.

A very cool, mid size, automatic, Ceramic, three hand, from Omega. Something for those folks who like the Phantom Dial Look" in timepieces. Tanks Mike :hat:

I really enjoy Watch Advisor reviews. Perhaps its Alexander's voice, I don't know but they might be my favorite.

I think this watch is a miss. I mean its cool that it exists cause the more options the better but the all grey look, especially on a watch that is going to cost significantly more than the regular SMP is a tough one.

And (only my opinion here) but you really only get to take advantage of ceramic when you get the bracelet too, which in this case would make the watch insanely expensive within Omega's pricing structure. Having a ceramic case is nice, but you're paying a good amount for that upgrade. When you have a ceramic bracelet you feel the coolness of the material as you wear it on a case with a sapphire and stainless caseback you never really get the experience to its fullest.

Also this watch is so limiting in OEM strap options. No bracelet, no natos since Omega only does stainless hardware, I suppose you could grab leather and switch buckles?

Hey like I said, cool that it exists. I'm sure someone is struck by it.
