I am so very, very, sorry for your loss Tom
It's never easy losing your best friend, I know. I have had several dogs who have graced our lives, My wife, Myself & her daughter.
I truly believe the ones that do suffer at the end are always better off .. to be taken to a place free of pain.
I carry many pet memories in my heavy heart, all the good & bad ones too.
1 of our most favorite beloved dogs 'Ladybug' has a frame that our vet made special at the time when she passed.
Ladybug got to know our vet & his staff really well as she had a cancer that just was too much for her.
The frame is in our loft upstairs. It has a paw print in it, some pics & a lock of her hair, preserved.
I visit it from time to time and it always brings a tear to my eye and even now as post this & share it with you all.
Prayers for you & your family & may Freckles finally rest in peace.
Very sorry Tom...I know very well how hard it is to put down your dog.....they are family for sure and it is heart wrenching...We never want them to suffer but it is still a tough decision to make...even when we know it is the right thing to do...
Sorry to hear of your fur babies loss....
I also lost my Basset Hound named Maximus in May 2019....he gave us 14 years and 5 months of pure joy and happines. I am sure Maximus is now showing your Beagle around and playing with each other running free.
A vet said something to me after Scooter died. He was an Lemon and White patch Beagle that succumbed way to early from pneumonia, secondary to canine Lupus. She said: “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.” It helped. Very therapeutic to take the time to deal with the loss and begin the process anew.
