That thread, which started a firestorm here in the forums 5 years ago, is like a stain. It needs to be removed imho. The OP has not even been on this site since 2016, and the last post to the thread was a year and a half ago.

Every time I go into the Invicta forum, it stares at me because it is always at the very top of the page. It's ancient news. The world has moved on.

HKShooter started the thread. I see him around all the time. Somehow when the first forum software migration took place some user handles were mixed up on some threads.

First and foremost, true, correct facts can help inform someone who is interested in getting into the hobby. What if someone wanted to buy the watch in question? Threads like this can be invaluable sources to help someone about the movement that's possibly inside. Regardless of good or bad, accurate facts can be a road map to help someone. I think most people are intelligent enough to be able to digest the facts to help form an opinion.

I could see if the facts were wrong or it was fake news. It's a part of their history and should be noted for rookie future collectors who seek information on the brand. Are chapters in history books erased because the truth put a stain on a place, person, or a particular period in time? Facts matter!

I saw it was a user named Racefan that started the thread?

Anyway, it was just a thought.

I agree, it should stay. Just because it hasn't been talked about or the guy the started it isn't around much anymore, that doesn't change the fact that it happened and is still probably happening. Anyone new to the addiction should be able to be made aware of the issues that can be associated with a certain brand, whether that be Invicta, Aragon, Deep Blue, etc.

i might try that movement swap someday... good reference...part of wit archive...respectfully disagree with KM and prefer the forum remain

I have five Invicta auto chronos which were sold to me as V7750's and thanks to that thread I found out they were SW500's as I checked them all out. The stain is on Invicta. Ancient history is still history and Invicta has earned their legacy.
