Today we have Nick's beautiful old LePhare on the bench, with the legendary Valjoux 88 caliber inside. This watch not only keeps time, it has a chronograph, a triple calendar and a moon phase complication. Sadly it is not running and the calendar and chronograph mechanisms are both stuck. Can they be repaired?

Making a Custom Bezel for a Vintage Watch – Step by Step​

Today we have José's 1950's 18K gold Exim chronograph on the bench, a lovely old watch with a major issue; the bezel is gone! The watch belonged to José's father, and at some point the bezel came off, as is unfortunately not uncommon in watches with these very thin cases. The last person working on the watch "fixed it" by placing an oversized crystal over the dial, but while that might be good for a "there, I fixed it" meme, it's not a proper solution. So what can we do about it?

THIS is the reason I started my channel - introducing Northern Watches!​

Hello watch lovers,

I am very proud and excited to reveal to you the real reason I started my channel almost give years ago: my own brand - Northern Watches!


It is the dream of pretty much every watchmaker to one day launch their own brand and I'm finally realizing mine. It has been a long route for Northern Watches - a few failed prototypes, Covid-19, a move to Switzerland and so on. The lugs on these watches are excruciatingly complex to make, with different polishing on the four different surfaces while keeping sharp edges. Ultimately the watches are now ready, Nordic Design, Swiss Made and I cannot wait to show them to you.

I started my YouTube channel before my brand was ready because I thought it would be a nice way to have an audience to show my watches to. I was hoping to perhaps reach 10,000 subscribers by that time, but due to both the channel taking on a life of its own and the challenges mentioned above, I am only now ready for the launch.

Join me for an unboxing for the first two Northern Watches models; NW1 - "Bronze Age", a CuSn8 case watch with a dark stone dial, and NW2 - "Northerner", a 316L steel watch with a white stone dial. Both watches show all 24 hours of the day and the date window is placed where your eyes naturally go in the morning. This way of reading the time and date together with the use of materials like bronze and stone is why the slogan for Northern Watches is "Time, Naturally".
