I've got two coming, a Borealis Bullshark black on black, and a Zelos Aurora Black granite 38mm.

I can't disagree with Roadwarriors opinion of Borealis' pricing. I put down 220$ back in July with a 14% off coupon. Then I get a 40% off coupon this week - for the entire amount. So instead of paying 250+220 it could have been 330. I will admit I feel penalized for committing to the watch early. If I buy another watch from them, I'll know to just wait until I get a massive coupon close to the release date.

In a situation like that... As much as I would want the watch I would ask for a price match, cancel or send it back... If they would not make it right... I refuse to get taken like that...

I think that's why Roadwarrior told him his model is ... not the best. I can't help but see the new promotion codes when I go to their site to see if the model is ready for shipping - i.e. to pay my other 50% deposit (250$). So their model is to rub the new codes in every time you go to check on the status of your pre-order. That said, I do want the watch.

IMO it will come back to haunt him in future releases. Too many other brands out there above board without playing casino like games with their pricing structure.

I agreed to pay the price when I pre-ordered. Shrug. It's $150 or so, which is annoying but not a deal breaker. I think mostly it's the wait which is grating on my very impatient nerves. I just now know if I like the trinket, that if I want anything else from them, to wait until I get a nice coupon and don't do the 50/50 thing. If I'd done that, and saved 150 on the bull shark, I'd likely have thrown the 150 and more back to them with a Sea Storm purchase, and they'd have sold me two trinkets, instead of one.

People are going to complain either way. I complain about the wait for the Borealis, other people complain about the 5 minute sold out Zelos trinkets. They're different business models. Overall, with my lack of patience and need for semi instant-gratification, the Zelos business model seems to work better for me.
