LIV Watch

Hi, I'm Darak from LIV Watch, in this video, I'll talk about oil-filled watches, enjoy.

Shout out to Rag Man, this is what he found out, "found a forum with comments about the Sinn watch. Apparently, they used silicon oil originally, but it made the white hands/lume turn yellow over time. Now they use a 3M product called Fluorinert™️. It's used to stabilize the temp in electronics. Changing temp can cause expansion and pop the crystal out."

Cool stuff. I understand how and why these originated but don't know why someone would do it in a non-utility watch

Whatever happened to 'hydro' modding?

Decided it wasn't worth the effort, it can be messy to do and for future battery changes, the majority of folks that regularly mod their watches tried it already and their tinkering curiosity.

When the pros do not do something it will not trickle down to the amateurs. Hydro also is not very compatible with Casio Tough Movement technology, nor is it suitable for sensor equipped models. Once you put the oil in the case and electronics it is pretty much impossible to clean it all out so very difficult to restore the watch and hydro mod watches have a weaker second hand value.
