WHICH DIRECTION WILL YOU GO?

RED OR BLUE

Hamilton designers and engineers, in collaboration with the design team from Christopher Nolan’s new film, TENET, produced a custom-made watch with unique features that only Hamilton was trusted to bring to life.

ALL WE HAVE FOR YOU IS A COLOR

Our latest Hollywood partnership – and our biggest one yet – involved extensive collaboration between our design team and the production design team behind Christopher Nolan’s latest film TENET, coming soon to theaters.

Initial conversations revealed that the film required a watch with features that do not currently exist in a commercially available Hamilton watch. Accepting the challenge, we committed to merging creativity with craftsmanship to produce this key movie prop.

IMAGINED BY FILMMAKERS, PRODUCED BY ENGINEERS

The 18-month preparation included technical development, testing and production at the Swatch Group’s lab in Switzerland where our engineers found a way to combine the needed technology with the display on the dial of our Khaki Navy BeLOWZERO. To meet filming needs, we produced dozens of the final prop watch and Hamilton watchmakers were on the movie set to offer support with the watch’s unique functions.

HAMILTON BeLOWZERO

Limited to 888 Pieces

For Hamilton, the creative process didn’t stop there. Our Khaki Navy BeLOWZERO served as the base for the wristwatch featured in TENET, but since the watch was only made for the film, we decided to celebrate the collaboration with an inspired-by special edition.

Cased in lightweight titanium, this special edition features a blue or red-tipped second hand as a reference to key colors in the movie. Each color version will be limited to 888 pieces, the number chosen as a nod to the movie title, which is also a palindrome, something that reads the same backwards and forwards.

UNIQUE PACKAGING DESIGN

Special packaging created by TENET production designer Nathan Crowley features colors inspired by design elements in the film.

I’m always impressed by Hamilton’s dedication to excellence and their willingness to think outside the box to create timepieces that do so much more than tell time

First Look: Hamilton Unveils Limited Edition Khaki Navy BeLOWZERO Tenet Special Edition Inspired By Upcoming Christopher Nolan Film Watch Releases

The Hamilton Khaki Navy BeLOWZERO is not a new watch by any stretch, standing as a stalwart in the brand’s collection since 2008, and “Tenet” is not the BeLOWZERO’s first starring role, having appeared on the wrist of Matt Damon in 2015’s “The Martian.” That said, the watch to be used in “Tenet” is slated to play a major role in the plot to save the world from World War III by manipulating time thanks to some truly extensive modifications. The Hamilton Khaki Navy BeLOWZERO Tenet Special Edition available to buyers, on the other hand, should be extremely familiar to those familiar with the brand. The beefy 1000 meter rated black case, ETA 2826-2 automatic movement, ribbed rubber strap, and stealthy blacked out dial remain the same as previous iterations, with the addition of a special arrow tipped seconds hand in either bright red or electric blue. It’s a small change, but as the only punch of color in these murdered-out designs, it’s surprisingly noticeable. The other major change that comes along with the new seconds hand is dazzling new packaging inspired by the film and designed by “Tenet” production designer Nathan Crowley.

While not the most dramatic of special editions, the subtlety of the Hamilton Khaki Navy BeLOWZERO Tenet Special Edition’s changes may ironically make it an easier sell to enthusiasts. Beyond film fans, those who were turned away by the standard BeLOWZERO’s complete lack of color may just find the pop of red or blue gives this watch a bit more personality without feeling too overwhelming. The Hamilton Khaki Navy BeLOWZERO Tenet Special Edition is limited to 888 examples in each color, available through authorized dealers at a price unannounced as of press time.
