May he have peace, and eternal rest, in the hands of the Great Architect of the Universe.

My dad was a football nut and a MN Vikings fan so as a small kid I got watch who I thought might be superman the way he ran the ball. through my Vikings defense like a dragster howling down the quarter mile towards the end zone. Then his knees went. The movie Brian's Song sent me into a crying fit as a kid and had to miss a day of school because I was so upset. Wish they had the kind of medical miracles they perform nowadays instead of the butchering they did back in the day. Bad knees killed the career of my favorite MN Twins player Tony Oliva too young as well. Gayle Sayers was like a bolt of energy that burst across the field and you probably new it wouldn't last as long as you'd wish it could. RIP too a early sports hero of mine.
