A Visitor Watch Co. Newsletter
My friends,

New Duneshores have landed at Visitor HQ and we will begin taking new orders and immediately shipping out those new orders early next week! As always, we work through our waitlists in chronological order (those at the front of the current list have been patiently waiting since May 2019! 🙏) and once your spot opens up it will remain open until watches have sold out. So, no pressure to make a purchase however, every week or so the pool of potential buyers grows larger.

Beach is back! 🥳
If you haven’t joined the Duneshore waitlist yet, this is the final notice to grab a spot! Once orders begin, I’ll close the list, and if any stock remains after the list is exhausted, it will join the public web shop.

Also, you can now find Visitor watches at Midwest Jewelers in downtown Zionsville, IN! This is the first time we’ve ever put our watches in a brick and mortar shop and I am so grateful to be able to partner with another small, Indiana business to make it happen. Midwest carries a really unique selection of pieces - if you find yourself in the area, definitely pop in!

Wishing you health and happiness as we near the end of 2021.
Cheers,
-Phil

They had these at the Wind Up show in Oct. In addition to their Duneshore Shallows and the smaller model (the name escapes me right now).

While the Visitor I had didn't end up singing to me, they do everything really well and to a very high degree of detail. If you think you like this design I'd say take the plunge. Esp if you don't get stuck on the waiting list.

^nice....

seeing the Duneshore and the Duneshore shallows side by side I think the standard Duneshore is more appealing but I wasn't going to take the plunge again. The bracelet especially works better on the non diver version. IMO. The buckle is cool. Had the rubber/sailcloth style strap too and it was Sa-WEET! Felt on par with Blancpain straps, at least from the month or so I lived with it.

DUNESHORE | AMARANTH + BLACK NBR

675.00
The Duneshore features a sculpted, mirror-polished case with a curved, exhibition caseback. Its sandwich dial (notice the minute mark holes) resembles wet ink, thanks to an enamel painting, baking, and polishing process. This semi-gloss, ink look matches the pen-nib-inspired hour and minute hands. Hour marks are individually applied and filled with blue-glowing BGW9 SuperLuminova. Lume is further applied to the hour and minute hands, the lower dial disk (which creates the minute marks), the dial signature, and the date numerals. The Duneshore case is made of 3 pieces of 316L Stainless Steel and features a screwed construction. Water resistance is rated at 100 meters thanks, in part, to a screw-down crown and a 2.5 mm thick sapphire crystal over the dial, which is treated with anti-reflective coating on the underside. Powering the Duneshore is a Miyota 9015 with custom rotor and date disk. The watch also features pierced lugs for quick and simple strap changes. The Duneshore case measure 44 mm by 42 mm, with a 51 mm lug-to-lug length, and a thickness that varies from 11.7 mm at the valley of the curved caseback to 13.7 mm at the crest. This version comes with a unique mauve dial.

worthy original design...unique spin CNC case machining nonpareil
the hands are a point of controversy...

some folks love 'em... ScottyB at a loss for words to describe the hands ..." victorian ? "

i would love to handle the DUNSMORE case ...wrist it... and see how the dial imprints on my retina

I'd have to say DUNSMORE gets poinst for not being more of the same old same old

-as we have seen the path to riches is to homage the design owned by a charitable trust that makes all their own parts and smelts their own gold

-gotta give kudos for original design

The hands are supposed to be reminiscent of fountain pens/nibs.

As Gavin mentioned above...

Collection Name: Calligraph. “Calligraph” is the verb-derivative of “calligraphy.” As you might guess, it means 'to make calligraphy.' But, if you broaden that definition a bit, you can understand it to mean “to communicate beautifully.” And we think this gets at the essence of the mechanical watch in a modern context; why, after some 400 years, this technology is still around: because there is yet to be a more beautiful way to communicate time.

With this notion in mind, our debut collection was given the name Calligraph, and the hour and minute hands you'll find on our first model, the Duneshore, correspondingly take their inspiration from calligraphy pen nibs.

And the case...

Our debut model from the Calligraph collection is the Duneshore, named after the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. This place is special to us, and the sand dunes here inspired much of the Duneshore case.

awesome WHITEY

CALLIGRAPH- to communicate from the GREEK...who got their alpha bet from THE PHOENECIANS

the reviews i read just said " hands " some like some don't

glad I engaged in the chatter with DARK OVERLORD and REPOMAN...because the "nibs" hands resembling nib on fountain pen is VERY ILLUMINATING

can't believe all the comments you read on watch reviews " nowsadays every body is a critic and all trying to monetize eye balls...and aside from getting swag from producers by saying nice things about a brand...snarky comments get them noticed "

glad I learned all this about the HANDS...thx fellas...before this convo I did not "understand " the hands and WAS TOO EASILY INFLUENCED BY LESS THAN INFORMED NEGATIVE WATCH CHATTER...now I think the hands are PURTY,DELICATE, ARTFUL and my mind leaps to CALLIGRAPHY and the art of communication

I was drawn to the Original Duneshore with the "beach" dial, and it took a hell of a long tyme to score one...but that Amaranth dial sure is beautiful too...So I would say if you are thinking about it...DO IT...I'm sure you won't be disappointed...
