DAMASCUS STEEL Keaton Time Keris Automatic Diver Review MIYOTA 9039

Congrats Buzz. It's still hanging in there with 65 hours to go. Several bailed for one reason or another, but I'm in for the duration fail or succeed. I've seen what Clemens at H20 is charging and doing research this one is fine with me. I'm not trying to compare this one with H20. Some of those I've seen have looked great while others looked rough for the price.

Reason some cancelled

1)
crown placement and worried about using various bracelets.
IMO something like a shark mesh that doesn't have a thick straight end link will probably work. It still has the potential for a bunch of nice straps.

2) crying because they are not using

Swiss Super-LumiNova®

I never pledged with lume in mind, if this stuff is decent, it's gravy

3) Worried about the buckle material .. one will match the case material, but the extra strap will have a buckle, but it will not be the premium buckle. It will be a branded SS buckle on the extra strap.

I'm fine with that. I've seen others only give one buckle to be shared with all of the straps. They have to keep a balance to be realistic or else why bother at all.

They already have reached their stretch goal. I think that this will be a pretty fine watch. I am with you on the lume aspect, if it shines then that is a great bonus. Usually I am pretty strict on crown placement but this one I think will showcase the star of the show much more which is the case.

Price wise, this is pretty good considering what you are getting. Plus the movement is a plus in my book.

Was an early supporter of this launch with a Damascus/Crimascus selection, got a bit of cold feet about 3 days ago thinking too many folks were backing out, and this watch will never get built, or face extended delays to deliver. The Creator (Keat) sent me 2 PMs thru Kickstarter within 24 hours of canceling, assuring me of his absolute resolve to build this watch, with quality, fix all prototype issues, and please reconsider backing it. Well, in the 11th hour, I decided to give this obviously driven creator another chance, and I backed the Damascus/Damascus Dial Version. So I’am now back on board with the hope of supporting another Elshan, and enjoying this unique Damascus offering.

Hi Folks!

It's been a while, and we have been hard at work ensuring production is going well. We have also finalised the tactical pouch design and moulds, and have proceeded with their production. Here's a sneak peek, along the Pak Guin patch!

Stay safe friends, and we will speak really soon.
Warm Regards,
Keat

Today we are unboxing a debut model from Keaton Time co. called Keris diver. It is a beautiful watch but one with a flawed crown design making it very hard to operate. I contacted Keaton about it and they said they are aware of the problem wne will come up with a solution for the production models.

:banghead: The crown is a big problem and they need to fix it and make it right. Notching out the strap is not an option IMHO. That messes up the option of using aftermarket straps. They should just move it away from the lugs. The particles on the rough looking dial are also an issue. The campaign showed a notched out, screw on case back. The video it looks like it is pressed on. Hopefully those last two issues are due to it being a prototype. I still think that rushing out a prototype with debris under the crystal is not a good look for any brand being reviewed. It does not inspire confidence and support at all IMO.

double DD's paired with DAMASCUS CF pig stick ...how lucky can 1 guy get ?

It's always a gamble with trinkets. Outside Android and Invicta, I've been fortunate with the bulk of other brands, regardless if they were just getting kick started or established. I think this could be one that I wished I bailed on if the list of issues are not fixed as noted. If so, oh well. You have to break some eggs to make an oversized omelet consisting of too many trinkets.

Regarding to the crown, as mentioned in during our campaign "Lengthened crown, with additional grip-rail mid-way along the shaft - The improved crown will enable easier pulling out, along with better grip"

We had been testing with various straps from FKM waffle strap, Tropics strap and Horween leather strap, they all won't interfere with the crown.

Yes the final production watch case back will had notches and screw down. The watches in the video are prototype sample, not final production watch.

Thank you once again for the support and faith in us. Please do not hesitate to contact us shall you have any further queries : )
