We were overwhelmed by the support we received on our first Kickstarter project for the Tempest Carbon

Forged Carbon was developed for use in aerospace, exotic race cars and high end sporting equipment…Only recently this high tech material has made its way into luxury watches and we have been obsessed with it. The luxury watch brands that use this material, charge between $10,000-$30,000 USD per watch! At these prices, owning a Forged Carbon watch maybe unrealistic and unobtainable for most collectors. We set out to create a high quality FORGED CARBON watch using the same manufacturing processes and techniques at an affordable price point.

The heart of the Carbon features a Miyota Cal.9015 movement made by Citizen. We have used and tested this movement extensively in our previous watches and has proven to be highly accurate and reliable. *Full movement specifications can be found below*

The forged carbon process creates a unique and unpredictable marbling pattern where no two watches are the same. Each watch is tested to 200m water resistance.

Caseback

The Tempest Carbon's case back design is held down by 6 screws and the artwork is inspired by the Periodic Table of Elements and pays tribute to the element "Carbon".
Dial and Crystal

We have upgraded the crystal to a Super Dome Crystal made from highly scratch resistant. The Super Dome Crystal gives the Carbon2 extra depth and dimension.

The Dial features individually hand-applied markers filled with BWG9 Swiss Lumi-Nova to maximize visibility in low light. Additionally the Tempest logo and Second hand are also coated in orange luminous compound.
Strap
The included High Quality Water-Resistant Nylon strap with leather lining measures 22mm wide at the case and tapers to 20mm at the black PVD coated stainless steel buckle.

Where are we now
We have spent close to a year designing and developing the Tempest Carbon. After several prototypes and several modifications and changes to the design, we can now say that the Tempest Carbon has been perfected. We have finalized all the designs, the engineering and prototyping has been completed. Our Manufacturing partners and suppliers lined up and ready to go. But due to the high cost of the Carbon, we need your help for the initial production run.

Great looking Tempest.
Incredible price for a carbon forged case.
I'm just not sure I have the itch for a carbon case. This will make a great prize for those that do.

no itch to scratch yet...i need elapsed time bezel complication.... but second that emo "gr8 prize" @ gr8 price for FORGED CARBON CASE

That a nice looking timepiece.Love the forged carbon and bubble crystal.

The price of these are great.Doesn't Richard Mille make his watches out of forged carbon.$$$$$$

I want to like this more than I actually like it. Which is fine, one less thing to add to the list.

I've said it before and I will say it again. I'm not 100% behind established companies using crowd funding. What is the benefit to the consumer? Tyipcally watch pre-orders (esp from small boutiques) come with a discount any way and typically consumers have to wait for their product. So why crowd fund instead of just putting it on your website and doing a pre-order.

And once again these companies if they're going to do crowd funding need to learn how to take advantage of different backing tiers. not just "Order a watch at this discount", "order two watches at this discount"

how about....
$750 get a watch
$800 get a watch and a set of Tempest swag
$850 get all the above plus your name on our backer list sent to all watch orders and a personalized thank you
$900 get all the above a special collectors box
$1000 get all the above plus a set of 3 straps

and so on.... if you're going to crowd fund, do it right! :)

JMHO.... which I know isn't even worth $.02

I must be in the minority here, these don't do anything for me especially at this price. You just can't please everyone...

Far from it have seen the sentiment expressed by others on all carbon models, the most recent one was the Helson SD with the ETA 2824, that is what makes the world go round.

Yep, you are exactly right. I would venture to guess if all watches looked the same we all wouldn't be here at WITs. :)

I think this is a sharp looking piece indeed.

This looks great but I had an issue on the early bird price of 765 so shipping fedex economy is 40 which makes the value 805 which is over the 800 duty free amount by 5 dollars according to the new tariffs laws passed by congress my tax on 5 dollars will be 56 dollars if Ben's declared value is the 805 is right and I figured it out right :headbang: so 861 dollars doesn't sound as good as 765. I noticed the pledge is going in the wrong direction :dizzy:

I would venture to say that the shipping costs don't enter into the cost of the item. In other words you pay Duty on the price of the watch... but not the shipping cost.

That is what I thought but I looked into the FedEx international shipping and it is shipping is part of the declared value. I try and post what I found can't get it to work on my phone.

my mistake thanks Joel miss read what I had read doesn't charge to the US, only outgoing to Europe.
