I’ve always been an admirer of Bremont, with their British base and heritage, gentlemanly design, and high levels of craftsmanship. But, they’ve always eluded me. Until now. As soon as they reached out, I was more than happy to check out anything they sent my way - they’d decided to send the S302, a 40mm vintage-inspired professional dive watch. I took one look and knew I’d have a good time checking it out.

Is it worth £3295? Or are you better off going Swiss for a similar price, such as Oris? Let’s find out.

I feel it makes sense to give special consideration to the aspects that make the watch stand out.

The S302 features a stainless steel Trip-Tick® case construction with a scratch-resistant DLC treated barrel. Bremont uses their case hardening process named B-EBE2000 (which doesn’t roll off the tongue), where the metal is heat-treated and defused with carbon, then bombarded with electrons. The result? Metal with a hardness rating of 2000Hv – seven times harder than standard steel, and therefore, more scratch-resistant.

DESCRIPTION
the company’s iconic ‘P-51’ Super LumiNova. These details are further accented by the new Sahara Vintage
leather strap against the black dial of the S302.

The trademark of the Supermarine collection is that it highlights the connection between sea and air, a range
that has been designed for the water but very much inspired by aviation principles. Turning the watch over
reveals a closed case back with an etching of the Supermarine Seaplane, a nod to the watches’ namesake, the
1930s aircraft company, Supermarine, whose first ever Spitfire prototype (the Type 300) led to one of Britain’s
most iconic aircraft. The new model incorporates a uni-directional ceramic rotating bezel and is manufactured
using Bremont’s Trip-Tick® three-piece case construction, housing a beautifully finished and chronometertested movement.

Bremont’s impressive line-up of ambassadors never cease to amaze with the extraordinary challenges they
continue to take on and running legend Nick Butter’s latest is no exception. Aptly named “Run Britain”, Nick will
attempt to run 200 marathons in 100 days around the coast of Britain, becoming the first person to run 100
double marathons back-to-back. Nick will be wearing the new S302 to keep an eye on his timing as he runs the
14 hours a day to cover the 52.4 miles that equates to a double marathon, every day for 100 days. He will run a
total of 5,240 miles.

Over the last 10 years, Nick has taken on countless running endurance challenges all over the world and to date
has clocked over 45,000 miles, completed 828 marathons, claimed 4 world records, 2 world firsts and has a
reputation for pushing the boundaries of what most deem as possible

IMHO RZE is far from a bargain.

The RZE Endeavour when it was on pre-order for $399 was a good price with the NH movement. At the regular price, even with a discount code, the price is fair, but not great. That's just me, but if it had the Miyota 9039 I would say it moves into the "bargain" threshold. They have to make a profit or why bother in the first place.

I love my SWORDFISH TI 42MM BLUE METEORITE, but I wouldn't call it a bargain for $499.00 with the NH35. It was a good price for the specs, but the 9015 would have made it even more attractive. That does not mean someone should not buy either watch> I just think terms coined can sometimes be misleading when it comes to anything being bought and sold.

I've said this before but I want to want a Bremont. I like the designs and I love the people. But I do feel they are overpriced. Oris is mentioned above and yeah if they were priced in that range (which some will still say is overpriced for a sourced movement) I would probably have at least one by now.

As a collector I read myself say that and think, "why should it matter"? If you like it you like it. After all I've almost dropped more money on a Hublot with a SW movement inside. But alas, I love the Hublot, not like it. And I suppose that is the difference.

The Bremont I love is the Hercules in Platinum which unfortunately is a $31k watch.

The SS version is nice too but not as special, even still its almost $12k. I've never spent that much, don't think I ever will and if I did the choices in that price range are many....

What does this whole diatribe mean? I don't know. Maybe however, one day the stars will allign and the price to design ratio will make sense on a piece I love, at that moment I'd be very happy to be a Bremont owner.

There are three versions of the Supersonic: 300 in stainless steel ($12,495 US), 100 in white gold ($23,995), and 100 in rose gold ($22,495). While the steel version is beautifully finished, and the rose gold version easily catches anyone’s attention, it was the white gold version that really caught me off guard with its radiance. The Concorde itself was made from a heat-resistant metal with a seemingly supernatural gleam, and the white gold seems to come closest to replicating that look.

Bremont admittedly botched the launch of what is an ... Given that Bremont has collaborated with La Joux-Perret before ...

Bremont reached out to La Joux-Perret in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, a high-end movement manufacturer that is also home for Arnold & Son. Given that Bremont has collaborated with La Joux-Perret before – specifically for their Codebreaker and HMS Victory pieces – it was natural for Bremont to approach La Joux-Perret (LJP) and ask them to co-operate with the engineers of Bremont.

The movements in both the Bremont and the Arnold & Son watches are built around the same base La Joux-Perret mechanism with the same going train configuration. Furthermore, there are some considerable differences between the two movements that Bremont points out.

no argument 9039 sweetens the pot...

As I mentioned to Stan, no right or wrong. Unless someone has a money tree or unlimited funds, we all have to pick and choose our own spots and shots to take when the finger gets itchy. I can see an RZE in my future. I like the direction they are going in the micro world.
