Arrived Seiko Presage Homage To The 1964 Crown Chronograph

There is another aspect that adds personal value to any watch. Sentimental value which can rarely be monetized accurately. A commemorative date, like graduation, retirement, promotion, birthday, or perhaps a bygone era. I have noticed this dimension missing from most of my previous watches and so easy to flip with no real emotional attachment.
Last night I was thinking about what was going on with me in 1964 and realize some important milestones. That was the year I became a teenager and was living in New York City. I remember riding the train by myself to visit the 1964/1965 New York World's Fair. It was "a world's fair that held over 140 pavilions, 110 restaurants, for 80 nations (hosted by 37), 24 US states, and over 45 corporations to build exhibits or attractions at Flushing Meadows–Corona Park in Queens, New York City." What an adventure in a time long past in New York. In addition that was the year I was shipped out to Staunton Military Academy in Staunton VA for 5 years of mandatory training and education. So when I look at my SARX069....by the way 1969 was the year I graduated.......it certainly adds another dimension to owning this particular watch which I think of a bit like a resto-mod popular among car guys.

yeah... USC i had trouble bonding at first site...but after being educated it's grown on me... and the back story is kinda cool... with luck u may off it in the future to an enthusiast and go on to taste the pleasure of another

interesting - you think I won't be keeping it. That is understandable given my history thus I wonder why I keep thinking I will keep this one longer. I must say my watch shopping has been curtailed of late.

IDK USC... when I buy i buy to " marry " ...so at acquisition " I intend " to keep them ... but somehow... my interests seem to change over tyme & tides ... knowing a watch has appreciated

might influence the decision... with your skills if the watch appreciates there are many other stars in the sky you have not yet tried

but like u say...the most important aspect is to enjoy the hobby

I certainly can relate to that buddy. Having bitten almost all the different watch bait in the past.....I think I have begun to settle down and not bite at every good cast anymore. I am still swimming in the pond though.

So it is a very nice nice watch but it has been resting in the box with the Neptune back on wrist until CW arrives. So Methinks the Sarx069 will go....
