I have been wanting a Mathey Tissot for a while mainly just to check them out see if they are better than other homage watches out there. Spotted this locally on Facebook $50.00 OBO "Mathey-Tissot Vintage GMT Black Dial, Pepsi Bezel, no box no paper work". The girl I got it from got is as a gift and never wore it she claimed it was too big for her, it still had the plastic on the back and front looks absolutely MINT. I got it home gave it a good once over and it's an OK watch not much better than most of the average designer/homage brands that are less expensive. It does have Sapphire crystal, solid end links, Swiss made, it runs on a Ronda 515.24H, a $12 to $20 movement. My favorite part of this watch is the bezel, it is done well the numbers are countersunk and painted/filled but are not lumed, that would have been a plus IMO. It's a fairly nice watch but I wouldn't pay more than a hundred bucks for one give or take a couple bucks. This is my first one ever so I will have to wear it a while and see how well it wears to really see if I would get another truthfully. 42mm about the smallest watch I would buy and this barely is 42mm 41.7mm exactly. From what I have found using Wikipedia they make their own watches but stopped in house movements a while back. I am kind of sick of the diver style watches though, I just have so many already they just do not excite me like the used to. My friend who I was with really likes it so I might give it to him after I wear it for a couple weeks. If you like Rolly homage watches and want Swiss this might be a good one to get.

I found a small issue with the bracelet and I am a little disappointed. When I sized it I noticed the friction pins were very, very easy to remove and they slid back in just as easily. One actually just fell out after I put it in. I checked all the pins they seem to easily pushed out with just hand pressure. I am a little worried they might fall out especially on this jubilee style rattler. I tried a tip I learned after having a lot of problems with Seiko friction pins being too loose that seems to cure the issue. I shook the braclet for several minuets and none of them loosened up. I bought a preowned watch but it was never worn not sure if other people had this issue with their Mathey-Tissots right out of the box or not.

I no longer own this watch. My friend kept asking me to find him one like this he loves it so much I had to give it to him! I really didn't form an attachment I have many Pepsi Bezel watches in the collection I won't miss it. I also collect uniforms and other Militaria he gave me an original W.W.II German Luger PO8 holster a while back it has all the markings that make it worth a quite few bucks because of the age and markings.
