Grand Seiko's "mosaic dial" is a distinctive feature of the 2018 9S 20th anniversary model line. Its spiral pattern of logos pays homage to Grand Seiko, Seiko, and Daini Seikosha, the 1960s predecessor of Seiko Instrument.
This limited edition of 1000 pieces features the most modern evolution of the original caliber 9S: 9S66. It is an automatic in house Grand Seiko caliber with a superb 3 day power reserve (72 hours), stop seconds (hacking), and a second time zone (GMT) with a 24 hour format for keeping track of day and night. Six position adjustment by Grand Seiko watchmakers ensures exceptional precision of -3/+5 seconds per day -- better than a COSC Swiss chronometer.
The SBGM235 case is crafted from stainless steel that is polished with Grand Seiko's signature "Zaratsu" tin plate method for flawless shine and mirror optics. Each Grand Seiko GMT in this series features an alligator leather strap with a full stainless steel deployant clasp that includes a vintage Grand Seiko logo on the buckle.
The 2018 Grand Seiko GMT 9S Mechanical 20th Anniversary Limited Edition Mosaic Dial is encased in 39.5mm of stainless steel surrounding a textured silver dial on a blue alligator strap. Functions include hours, minutes, seconds, date, and GMT. The watch also measures 14mm in thickness and 46.9mm from lug-to-lug.
