What a nightmare....

Been gradually getting blurry vision on my left eye. I'm only 44. Eye doctor last month diagnosed with a huge PVD. Google if you're interested, basically the gelatinous substance that gives your eyeball shape is attached to a rear wall and mine has broken up and is just floating around in my eyeball fking up my vision. I was told I would need open eye surgery because it was too large and too close to the Lens and cornea To do laser. Since it was more of an annoyance and my dominant right eye took over most of the time I wasn't sure if open eye surgery was worth the risk.
Fast forward a month later my vision is getting progressively worse and I go see a retina specialist Last week. They diagnose me with a retinal tear which is an emergency and can cause permanent blindness. They send me right to a retinal specialist who confirms need for surgery. His office screws up OR block. Gets pushed to Today, then tomorrow. Get a call today insurance won't cover surgery since it's not in the same hospital system that I work.... I have a PPO but theirs a special clause as a hospital worker my insurance still says i have to get surgery within the system. Got 2 other referrals today, no place does surgery at the only hospital in my network for retinas.
So I have to go thru ER tomorrow at the only hospital that does do eye surgeries in the entire city of Vegas...
Then appeal what I'm sure is a friggin 15k hospital bill. What a joke!!!

Guys, I am agnostic, and probably don't deserve this, but if any of you religious folks wouldn't mine throwing a prayer my way that I regain my vision and don't go blind, it sure would be appreciated. I may be off the grid on "eye rest" for a while just wanna let you guys know that is wasn't because of Lee's bad jokes 😁...

Bobby I know this is a stretch and a little late what about Dulaney Perkins eye care center in Lake Havasu Arizona they have an office and they do retina surgery. I had mine done in Phoenix a couple of years ago and they do great work. Phone number is +1-928-855-9477. Best of luck my friend I was up and going the next day

Gary Gman struggled with bad vision for the last years of his life. It was frustrating at times, but that was just one more bump in the road from what he would tell me. Hang in there man .. anxiety can tear you up. You will be in my thoughts and prayers to come out the other side better than going in.

Prayers for you bro
