So, finally, a Parnis. And do you know what? It is pretty much what I was expecting. Actually, that's not true. It is much, much better looking than I expected, but every bit as well put together, if you see what I'm saying. So it is over to you. What are you looking for in a watch? Show or Go? Cheers, Jody

:dance2:Bargain Central:happy: here, for sure! :wink:Thanks Mike.:hat:

I have all the iterations of the Parnis GMT. Coke, Pepsi, Root Beer, Batman and plain old black. Parnis is like Russian Roulette. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. The ones that I've kept are all winners no flaws and keep outstanding accuracy for the price. The ones I've taken out to the range for target practice should never have left China. I've taken a few of the bad ones apart and have found most of the problems are caused by poor QC.

Poor quality control is no stranger with brands like Android, Croton, Deep Blue, Invicta and Seiko.

Don't forget, high myopia incidence in Chinese/Asian populations is upwards to 22% so possibly 1 in 5 in the child labor force may have uncorrected/uncorrectable vision! Roll the dice, take your chances.

In context, this is an $80 "retail" cheap knockoff from sketchy factories using questionable parts (illegally copied from legit products... translated from Chinese to "stolen Western IP") and questionably trained, non-certified labor produced for a few dollars each (insert any brand here using Chinese factories/parts, actually). The fact they are as nice as they are, when they are, is remarkable. You can't compare these low end homage watches to Swiss made or any other non-Chinese made brands of any level; it's apples to elephants... even if that apple looks like an elephant! With this in mind, enjoy it for what it is... or buy the real thing and not a $80 homage. Some sayings are rooted in fact: You get what you pay for. With luck, sometimes you may get a little more than expected.

Just an observation from the fringe on setting expectations.
