It only has 100 meters of water-resistance; it lacks typical Submersible diver’s features such as a Helium Escape Valve –

Power comes from an in-house OP XXXIV caliber which can be viewed through a Sapphire exhibition case-back.

PANERAI GOLDTECH
The gold used by Panerai is a special alloy, different from standard gold. Panerai goldtech has a percentage of copper giving the material an intense red hue that is particularly elegant and sophisticated. Platinum is another fundamental element of the Panerai gold alloy, as it helps to prevent the metal from oxidising.

P.1000 CALIBRE
P.1000 calibre
The P.1000 is a new in-house hand-wound calibre with a power reserve of three days. The movement has the fundamental functions – hours, minutes and the seconds counter at 9 o’clock – and it is 12 lignes (26.8 mm) in diameter with an overall thickness of 3.85 mm. Consisting of 152 components and with 21 jewels, the P.1000 calibre is solid, strong and reliable, and it is immediately recognisable as a Panerai calibre from both the technical and aesthetic points of view. To ensure maximum security and stability, the balance is held by a bridge with two supports, fixed by screws with threaded rings for micrometer adjustment of the height. The oscillation frequency is 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour). With the small seconds dial at 9 o’clock – another of the distinctive characteristics of many contemporary Panerai watches, directly descended from the historic models – the new movement also contains the device which stops the balance and zeroes the seconds hand (seconds reset) when setting the time, for perfect synchronization of the watch with the reference signal.

:dance2:A very clean, handsome, and distinguished, standard size, automatic, three hand, from Panerai. Respectable, impressive, and sporty. Thanks Mike.:hat:

Nice enough looking watch, but I'm not ready to pay "car" money for a watch, thank you. :)

italian admiral dress watch ...seems like a nice watch for a retired navy man working for a top military contractor earning high six figures steady

with an annual salary over 300k seems affordable for a navy man wanting to honor PAM tradition... SLY could also afford...but i would assume SLY gets swag...nice !

-interesting alloy..would consult a metallurgist to learn more...as far as copper giving it reddish hue... we wits all knew that as PINK OR RUSSIAN OR ROSE GOLD is in the pink from copper/gold alloy... and BRONZE CUSN8 also...gets it's reddish hue from amount of copper added to the alloy...metallurgy interesting stuff...over the years we have had WG and WIT scientists who have opined on these alloys... skool me
