Im not very knowledgable on these Precisionist but see many here rave about them. Is this a good deal on WOW?

Nice find Bob, Love the multi level dial. You should have posted this in "Hot Deals Heads Up" too!

It's a pretty good price on that model. The lowest I've ever seen it was at Christmas time at Ashford.com for about $155 I think you'd like that one Bob. The sweeping second hand is as smooth as an auto. I have four and really like them a lot.

That is one outstanding bargain indeed. A great find for sure, Bob.:good:

Not a bad price for a very nice Precisionist. I have that same model and it looks great, to say nothing of that smooth sweeping second hand and the extreme accuracy.

Nice deal Bob thanks for the HU,you can get a refurb here for $119.99.

Our items listed as "manufacturer refurbished" are retail customer returns. For example, Macy's or Dillard's might have too much inventory of a particular watch so they would send some models to the manufacturer. Bulova puts a lot of care and effort into re-manufacturing these watches before putting them back up for sale. Each watch is completely inspected, cleaned, repaired and its battery changed prior to being resold under the ?[FONT=Times New Roman, serif]manufacturer refurbished? condition. Our watches come with the original box, tags, manual and a 3-year warranty from Bulova. However, these watches might have some very minor cosmetic wear, light nicks and scratches, on them picked up throughout the process. If you are dissatisfied with your "manufacturer refurbished" item please contact us prior to leaving feedback and we'll make things right. We are always willing to help our customers and want them to be happy.

PRECISIONIST is a very respectable tool for your watch fetish to attach to-

a little before your time there was an esteemed member named FLYBACK with extensive BUL PRESS collection-

FLY took kool watch porn money shots ( nice pix )

-what's kool about these watches are: admirable mechanics, nonpareil functionality, almost poor man purchase price

-a collection niche for horological cognoscenti ( means me likee )

Brad AKA FLYBACK pushed me off the cliff a few times with his beautiful photography and was the reason eyE picked up this one many moons ago,at one time he was also a MOD at WG's.

I can't comment on that particular Precisionist model because I've never considered that one before so I don't know if that is a good deal or not. I can comment on Bulova Precisionist watches though because I have three of them (all diver models) with a fourth, a Sea King chronograph, due to arrive later today at my door. They're great watches if you can accept that they're quartz. There's nothing wrong if you don't because many watch collectors will never accept a quartz watch in their collection. I can see that viewpoint because as I type this I'm wearing my Invicta Russian Diver Nautilus with an ETA/Unitas 6497 mechanical movement inside. It's one of my favorite watches and I love the 6497 movement.

Really though, the one major reason why I like the Bulova Precisionists is the sweeping second hand. The only smoother second hand that I've ever seen in person was on the Seiko watches that I looked at in Japan with the Spring Drive movement. Those are very expensive by my budget so the Precisionists are the only smooth movements that I can afford. The Precisionist movements really are smooth too...smoother than anything coming from much more expensive watches like those from Rolex or Omega. They still do tick along, but just at very tiny steps/beats.

If a sweeping second hand is no big deal to you, then you might want to pass on any Precisionist watch. Really though...who spends time observing the second hand on their watch that closely as it goes around ad around? Oh that's right...I do! :)

Oh, one other thing that I forgot to mention. Bulova makes a huge deal about the accuracy of the Precisionist movement, which I think is +/- 5 seconds per year. If you do some research online about this subject, you'll find that in the real world, the accuracy is all over the map. Basically, it all depends on how well the movement was regulated at the factory. I have two Precisionists that are well within Bulova's accuracy specs, but one is a little bit faster. The fast one is still well within my accepted tolerance though and it's still way more accurate than the typical +/- 15 or +/- 20 seconds per month that most quartz movements are rated at.
