Please enjoy this video of a loaned-in GMT watch from Batavi, a Norwegian watchmaker that will release this watch on March 26, 2020. Its a lovely GMT watch with a Swiss ETA movement and a very affordable price point.

Correction: In the video I identified the country of origin wrong. It has been pointed out to me the watch is DUTCH in origin. I apologize for the error.

Please note: in the video I make mention of my issues with the bracelet and its not using screws to secure the removable links. I since have spoken the campaign owner about this and it was explained to me this was a conscious decision given the price point that the preference of the owner for pins and sleeves as being a more secure way to hold the bracelet together. I accept his explanation about this. And while I am still not a fan of this style, I can still recommend this watch to anyone who views this video.

Batavi Kosmopoliet GMT

The Batavi Kosmopoliet is the follow up of our earlier Noordzee dive watch. This is our dreamproject! We have being working on this for a couple of months.
For the design proces we were inspired by the faded bezels of the vintage GMT watches of the past. We combined this with travel, fashion and minimalism to get the Kosmopoliet GMT. At the heart of this watch lies the Swiss, premium automatic ETA 2893-2 movement. This is very solid and reliable movement with a power reserve that can run up to 50 hours.

We expect the delivery of all our watches to our backers around the Summer of 2020.

Batavi watches Amsterdam is a boutique watch brand from the Netherlands. Our aim is to give watch lovers something for the eye and for the soul. Something to enjoy, be proud of and wear it without worries.
We combine the vintage aesthetics and mix it with Dutch minimalism.

Batavi is about being the underdog, being honest, brave and fearless.

It's about never giving up no matter how hard the situation is.

Just like the small village people who revolted against their mighty oppressors, while knowing they would not survive the battle. They were called Batavi.

Dear followers, we have some bad and very good news. Let’s start with the bad news. The Eta 2893-2 elabore is very low on stock and almost impossible to find also the involvement of the corona virus makes this searching very hard. The good news is. We have found a stock of eta 2893-2 advanced movements a very big stock. These movements are exactly the same as the elabore, just the bridge, rotor and some other parts ar decorated. These movements cost more. We will upgrade all our watches with a advanced eta 2893-2 advanced for the same price. The second good news is that we will provide our backers with an other movement to chose from. The second option will be the Swiss Soprod C125. This movement is very reliable and also Swiss made but a cheaper option. With this we will make the Kosmopoliet GMT more affordable like some of you asked. The price will be between 549,- and 599,- euro. Hope you like this upgrade.

A very sharp looking piece, in some cool executions!:dance2:Thanks Mike.:hat:

Hmmm.... Reminds me of the Horizons GMT by Zelos for sure. I feel like some of the color combos are tough on the eyes. I like bright and I like unusual colors but they also have to go together. The one Dane reviews with the blue and grey bezel but a completely different blue on the dial, white-ish numerals on the bezel but vintage lume, red GMT hand with an orange strap. I dunno.

The green posted above doesn't look bad.
Black and grey is a winner.

the teal/brown/black.. not sure.
the fuscia/grey/brown ugh.

and $750 might not be high for the specs but its a little high for an unknown kickstarter.

I wish them well. The dials themselves look really nicely finished, great sunburst grain.

The only one I could consider would be the green dial on the bracelet or possibly the black dial. The rest just don't seem to fit together very well color wise... just too oddball for my tastes especially at the asking price. I'd have to pass on this one.
