  • Ryan standing on a dive box.

Just now, Ryan demonstrated the ruggedness of a dive box, buy quietly standing on it. Very nice.

Anybody here remember Shawn Wisie's kicking, bumbling on purpose, and dropping, and drop-kicking the case all over the shopnbc studio. It was a riot. THAT WAS ENTERTAINMENT!

All before my time. I wonder what happened to the entertainment aspect? About all we get now are camo pants dances and underwear drawings.
Supposed to be more about the watches and less about theatrics anyway.
Cake. It does the body good.
    The original cake guy!

Yeah but their sales numbers were provably way higher during those more theatrical(entertaining) days. Sales numbers of watches have dropped considerably each year since Skelton and that group were having a little fun. They used to put out a TTV and would sell as many as 10,000 pieces with ease. Was generally more buzz around the forums and talk about them. It's all coincidental of course, but numbers don't usually lie, and why a lot of the hosts have entertainment or theatrical backgrounds. People are more likely to be in a buying mood if they somehow connect with a sales person. Bad sales people obviously leads to lesser sales. Otherwise they would be just as well off with no sound and graphics and save money on humans. Obviously must not work, because it's never done. Can't say I wouldn't watch a little longer if Heather Hall was on over Kendy, which in turn with more time watched may spark an interest in a product over hitting the channel changer as fast as possible. Put me in a good mood and I'm more likely to look, then when I want to take an ice-pick to my ears and eyes.

Can't say for sure ,but would guess manufactured in the same factory and was a mix up that never was caught even after it was discovered,eyE think Shop NBC aired the same watch again in another show also.

I find myself checking the LC channel to see if Shawn's on. If he is, I always stop and watch a while, regardless of what he's selling. Boy, I do miss him selling watches. A straighter shooter (or so I'm convinced) there never was.

                    Who is that guy?
Funny, he was completely flabbergasted. Did they actually sell that watch or do you think they returned it to the factory? It would be interesting to see that one in the market.

Mike, that's really some good stuff! Thanks for this. I must be getting old.

Shawn Wilsie was shopnbc tv watch (and other stuff) host for many years, a super individual, and one of nicest and smartest guys you ever saw present on TV. He was an honest presenter, and had aura of not hurting a fly. He bantered with co-hosts, still keeping the show moving. He usually had his own scale and calipers to review watch specs. He knew his stuff.
He was gone without fanfare. He worked the midnight shift est, when many watch shows ran. I stayed up to catch him. Someone here likely knows how to post his farewell show. It was quite moving.
