Dagmar Turner, who plays violin with the Isle of Wight Symphony Orchestra, played the instrument for surgeons to ensure that parts of the brain that are important for playing were not damaged during a procedure to remove a brain tumour.

 
Very cool (not to mentions a bit emotional!). Kudos to the surgeons to check at the time, rather than later!
