I just wanted to share with you guys a few pics of my grandfathers pocket watch. I visited with my father today while I'm in Florida, and after admiring my Watchgeeks watch, he showed me this Elgin that my granpap got after he came home from WW1 in 1918. I had forgotten all about it, since he has lived down here for many years and I wasn't a watch person while growing up, so I was really blown away by it. The medal attached to the chain is a group of soldiers, apparently, and there is something written in French on it, but it's faded. I'll have to do some research on it when I get a chance. Hope it interests you guys too.

It looks like it's not as old as my dad thought with the production date of )94), but that's quite alrightt, I'll let him know. My grandfather was a railroad engineer, P&LE I believe, so I can imagine he used this watch quite often. I'm going to call my father and give him the info, so again, I really appreciate the research.

Come to think of it, it's possible that my father meant that the medal was from )9)8, not the watch. :)
