I think I like these.
but where in the USA are these made? :wow:

Some very sharp designs indeed. Thanks Mike.:cool2:

Geez... I totally forgot about these...
Thanks for the memories!

Cant read the small print.

I would like to know what auto movementnis being used?
Is this more like an assembled in the USA like Shinola than really being madenin the USA.

Interesting though.

I'm thinkin' that these are from quite a few years ago, at 43 and 44mm. I like the first one on the lagarto. Thanks for posting!

this is old stuff from like 2007 and the movement is more than likely the Miyota 8215.

I suppose it would be extremely unlikely they would be current.

People at Invicta read the news and the news says those aren't "Made in America" and can't be marketed as such.

If the movement isn't made in the USA the FTC will send a nastygram. I think only RGM will qualify and then only on a portion of the range. Niall, Shinola and all the rest will be cleaning up the marking.

Your absolutely right, goes to show how times change, back than it was done by more companies than just Invicta before they tightened the reins, many of the models even had sapphire crystals.I posted about the exact same story a month or so ago concerning Shinola watches.

According to US law the country where the movement was made determines the country of origin of the watch. So unless the movements were made in the USA these watches can't be "USA" made watches according to US law. The US law considers a Swiss made movement assembled in China as a Swiss made watch. Believe whoever at Invicta said these watches are "US" made watches thinks if the watch is assembled in the US is a US made watch?

So US and Swiss Federation Guidelines are quite difference on the origin of watches, especially on what is a "Swiss Made" watch.

Are any movements made in the US? Doubt it. So according to US law there aren't any US made watches.

Vortic is a company with a unique idea for building an American watch: taking vintage pocket watch movements – all made in the USA – and integrating them into stylish stainless steel cases 3D-printed in Pittsburgh, PA. The watches will have Corning Gorilla Glass crystals and American leather bands handcrafted in Fort Collins, CO.

The Chicago" belongs to Vortic's flagship line of watches; the American Artisan Series. All of the components (movement, dial, hands) between the two Gorilla Glass crystals are ~100 years old, and started their life in a Railroad-Era pocket watch made by the Elgin National Watch Company. These watches were made near Chicago, Illinois in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Vortic uses vintage movements whose case has been scrapped for its precious metal value, and meticulously restores the inner workings in order to build a completely custom watch around it. Vortic uses 3d printed cases (stainless steel), custom-machined hardware, handcrafted leather bands, as well as re-created vintage parts to achieve a one-of-a-kind watch that is designed and assembled in Colorado, and 100% made in the USA. Each watch arrives in one of Vortic's beautifully wrapped and sealed walnut watch boxes, and comes with Vortic’s limited lifetime warranty.
