Vortic is a company with a unique idea for building an American watch: taking vintage pocket watch movements – all made in the USA – and integrating them into stylish stainless steel cases 3D-printed in Pittsburgh, PA. The watches will have Corning Gorilla Glass crystals and American leather bands handcrafted in Fort Collins, CO.

The Chicago" belongs to Vortic's flagship line of watches; the American Artisan Series. All of the components (movement, dial, hands) between the two Gorilla Glass crystals are ~100 years old, and started their life in a Railroad-Era pocket watch made by the Elgin National Watch Company. These watches were made near Chicago, Illinois in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Vortic uses vintage movements whose case has been scrapped for its precious metal value, and meticulously restores the inner workings in order to build a completely custom watch around it. Vortic uses 3d printed cases (stainless steel), custom-machined hardware, handcrafted leather bands, as well as re-created vintage parts to achieve a one-of-a-kind watch that is designed and assembled in Colorado, and 100% made in the USA. Each watch arrives in one of Vortic's beautifully wrapped and sealed walnut watch boxes, and comes with Vortic’s limited lifetime warranty.
