OMEGA Seamaster NATO collection
OMEGA have released a new collection of NATO straps with a veritable smorgasbord of variants in nylon and leather.

OMEGA's "NATO" straps evolved from the leather and canvas ones used by British pilots, navigators and army personnel during World War Two. For safety reasons, wristwatches did not use removable spring bars to secure their straps. Their fixed bars, often soldered, were less likely to break than spring bars so there was less chance of losing the strap. Of course, this meant that the straps were created in a single piece that slide through the fixed bars.

Very handsome, impressive, and colorful straps, to be sure. Thanks Mike.:hand:

look great, I would really like to be able to compare them side by side with the people making $30-40 higher end natos to see just how much better an Omega is compared to straps by Haveston, Phenomnato, Toxic, Alhpa Shark by Blu Shark.

Unlike bracelets, except for being made with branded hardware, I doubt they are much better than the $15.00 ones from CNS. I've seen the Ball and Hamilton straps and was not impressed for the high price. There is only so much you can do with this type of materiel to merit the price tag.

I'm with RoadWarrior and DarkOverlord on this. I love the better quality Natos that CNS has and I just got a BlueShark that is more expensive but about the same quality as the CNS--maybe better hardware.

I may be wrong but I think those Omegas are $200.

Great looking straps, but I bet they are expensive.

The NATO strap for the James Bond Spectre Edition Seamaster, when purchased separately from Omega is $185 :wow:

"ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY FIVE DOLLARS!!!" for a NATO strap that is totally indistinguishable from a $14-$20 NATO strap that can be purchased online, of the same color combination (except for the Omega symbol, name and 007 marking engraved on the straps SS rings)

like the fellas are saying you can clearly see the value of the trademark here ...for the vendor-

- most fellas on this site would buy their nato sans trademarks...i will-

- if i were a rich man i would get it at the stores TC and DOC DAVE are touring..and if it got fuzzy I would have them replace it...and say yes sir right away...but that is not happening in my current bodily incarnation-

I have natos by Vostok Europe, Watch Gecko, Blu Shark, Alpha Shark, and clockwork synergy. I have also gotten to play with/test, etc Crown and Buckle, Adpt, Panatime.

There is certainly a difference. The hardware on the cheaper natos is usually thin and stamped then bent the better stuff is thicker and much better made, the fabric is thicker on the better straps, the holes better finished, the stitching is usually better and perhaps on some the fabric is just glued together.

The Alpha Shark by Blu Shark is way better than the others I've tried and costs $32 as compared to $5-$42 for the others I've listed. It is by far better I'd like to compare it to the other better natos. The regular blu shark is quite good at $18 but thinner and the metalwork is just not quite as good as the Alpha. The fabric of the Watchgecko is nice but the hardware is meh. Same for the Adpt which is particularly disappointing since it is more expensive than the Alpha SHark, Toxic Nato, Havenston, Phenomenato. The others are all very close to each other.

So I'm fine paying $25-30 for one of the really great straps as compared to $8-15 for a mediocre strap... but I just can't imagine an Omega is 6x better than an Alpha Shark... I'd love to know for sure though.
