If you are shopping on Amazon and the price seems way high for what you are getting, check the weight. There is a good chance it is a bulk item and you are getting a lot more than you thought and the item you actually thought was overpriced is actually a really good deal. Bazic is a company that makes school supplies and sells them in bulk. I will often snag these good deals and donate them to our local school. Here is an example, clearly Amazon is not charging $20 for one composition notebook and if that is all you get contact Amazon and point out the weight, they will either place another order or refund your money, if you keep getting one just keep telling them the weight. By the way based on the weight you are getting 48 notebooks.

It's definitely case pricing and there are 48 to a case. Amazon with S&H, has some of the best prices on some school supplies. My youngest daughter has been teaching for several years and is always buying supplies out of pocket because of budget cuts in the school districts.

You can see the prices other places charge.

What's nice also is that often the deals are a case of only one left and then either that's it and you find the price somewhere else or Amazon puts the item on reorder and the price is considerably higher.

Here are some really good case deals.

4 pack of gel pens, you get 144 packs, that figures out to about .25 cents a 4 pack, .6 cents a pen. By the way, Amazon already raised the price a dollar after I put it in my saved for later. I sometimes think they assigned someone just to watch what I'm up to.

144 packs of crayons, this figures out to about .20 cents a pack. Again they raised the price by $2 after I put it in my saved for later.

Clearly I was just joking about them watching me. I will tell you what I have noticed.

Most of the price changes are made overnight, these seem to have to do with supply and how long they have had it. Price changes during the day seem to be mostly reacting to sales activity and what other sellers and retailers are doing. I have been buying the Bazic cases for about 6 or 7 years now. What I used to do was put it in my saved for later and watch the price, as long as it kept dropping on the overnight changes I waited. As soon as it got to a point I figured it wasn't going to go much lower or it actually started to go back up I bought it. A couple of years ago I noticed that when I put a Bazic case in my saved for later, they would actually go up in price right away during the day, it's not happening with any other stuff. I stopped putting them in my saved for later and just kept an eye on the prices. I was curious to see if things had changed and that was why I put the ones above in my saved for later.

Just a heads up, your saved for later cart will hold 600 items. If you go over that it will take out the one at the bottom of the list to make room for the new item.

Don't order the notebooks, it was only one. When I looked up the tracking number the weight was under a pound. I emailed Amazon and needless to say the person responding was clueless even though I had provided the details and done all the work. His response was the order was for one notebook that weighed 32 pounds. Luckily Amazon has the option in the email to say whether the response was helpful or not and clicking that gave me the option to speak on the phone with a rep who was able to reverse the shipment and refunded my money.
