Hi guys! Looking to make one final purchase for the year and I wanted to keep the price in the $1500 to 1700 range. I was looking at a couple of Longines models:

Conquest
https://www.jomashop.com/longines-watch-l38014566.html

and

Admiral GMT
https://www.certifiedwatchstore.com...3d5qtTeme0KAqQYnh-3EpZMb6Us-RdcEaAjvgEALw_wcB

But it occurs to me that I really don't know much about the brand other than they'be been around for a while and seem to be well respected. I was wondering if any WITs owned a Longines and could give me some feedback.

Thanks

I had this one for a few years...just sold it recently.

Honestly, I only sold it because I wasn't wearing it. It was such an amazing watch. Very advanced. When you pull out the crown, all of the retrograde hands instantly reset to zero until you push the crown back in. I've never seen anything like it. I guess it was designed to prevent stripping out the retrograde mechanisms or modules.

I highly recommend Longines, and I think it is probably a very underrated and underappreciated brand here in the U.S. I think it's a big seller in Japan.

As far as the two you are looking at, I'm a chronograph guy so I'd lean that way, but both are awesome and you can't go wrong....

If this retrograde ever gets below $2,000, especially on the bracelet.....

in my mind the whit dial is killer it has the look of a ballground railroad almost. i would sport that easy with a white collar an black tie or a thermal pull over and jeans.....

Thanks guys. I'm torn between the two, I prefer the dial on the Admiral but I kinda dig the chrono as well and like that it's a tad larger at 44mm. Can't seem to find much online about either other than a YouTube video on the GMT (grey dial version). Also looked at the Heritage Diver but the lugs seem kinda long.

A co-worker of mine owned the Admiral GMT. He absolutely loved the watch. This watch is an alternative to something like an Explorer II or something a bit more expensive. At 1099.00 that is a lot of watch for your money. A white dialed watch on a bracelet will literally match anything you're wearing as well.

The price has been bouncing up n down on the GMT. Yesterday it was under 1K today it's slightly over after Lee's discount.

My friend picked his up for around $1,200 at the Tourneau Outlet about 7 years ago. Anywhere around $1,000 is an absolute steal for this watch the fit and finish are superb. I
