Had the chance to pick up some older Androids lately, and boy what a fun bunch! First off is an Android Sphere auto with a carbon fiber dial.
Needs quite a bit of clean up, but overall in good shape. Great shape for it's age.
Definitely have a case of fogged crystal here too. No worries, we'll just have it open and clean that out.
Oh yeah baby, it's one that I've been hunting for about as long as I've known about Androids... The Catapult! I don't know the long story about this one, just that they started showing up in the late 90's for a company that specialized in slingshots and whatnot. I know there is a BackyardArtillery.com version, and one that is just marked with Android markings. Don't know about the rarity on either. Probably have to shoot Wing a note to get info.
So what looks like a crystal protector is actually a functional, spring loaded, wrist mounted, spitball catapult. Why? Why not??? Its delightfully silly, and quite unlike anything else I have in my fleet.
It's constructed quite well for a novelty piece, and has held up well over the last 20 years. Sooooo happy to finally tie this one down. :grin
